Child those are available in crystal clear soundboard now

The 84 birthday show REHEARSALS are in perfect sound?! On what boot? I'm not asking for how to find it. I'm just unaware of those tracks being out in perfect quality. The birthday show itself is one thing, but the rehearsals?!

I would like to hear this as well. My copy blows and, after "Old Friends 4 Sale" (original piano version), this is the unreleased studio track that desesrves full sonic treatment the most.

Regarding All My Dreams.

I'm pretty sure that the version from "Sign O' The Times: Ridiculously Deluxe Edition", clocking at 7:11 is the best we can get.

Sounds pretty 100% to me.

The entire "Dream Factory" sounds pretty 100% to me (SAB Release).

To my ears, "All My Dreams" sounds better in the Thunderball release.

It's been a while since I listened to Parade Demos, but isn't the version of Old Friends 4 Sale nearly perfect on that set?

We're talking of an entire album so I think sound quality of a release is the same for all the songs and not different from one to other (on a side note I think "Witness" is a little more "raw" than others because of the original production and not for a differente source).

I'm sure that the Thunderball original 2CD release has a subdued hiss that you can hear specifically with headphones (if I remember well it was a problem due to a dubbing near a TV, but I could be wrong).

Anyway, to be honest, it's years and years that I don't listen to the Thundeball version, so I can't judge on the single songs. Maybe you got a point, don't know, I will check for curiosity.

To my ears SAB is 100% polished from the start to the end.

Witness -> best version to my ear : Sign O The Times Ridiculously Deluxe Edition. 100%.

We can funk (86 version) > We Can Funk [#3] - Prince's iVault. 100% (almost too clean, I prefer the dirty one, overcompressed it's better...)

Do yourself a favor

For the 5th I cant make up my mind betwn

All my dreams -> best version to my ear : Sign O The Times Ridiculously Deluxe Edition. 100%.

Heaven ->I actually like the Prince's iVault version, muddy and all...

Purple Music -> Im' pretty sure the one from The Work is pristine ? It just has the 1999 somber sound.

Wonderful ass ->Lots of versions out there, all interesting. Prince's iVault, the one clocking @ 6'18 is probably 90~95%.

All day all night

Does anyone else, while happy we have some stuff in pristine sound,
have a special bound to some hissing version?

It's very subtle.

Try starting from a very flat EQ on both, and then just a smooth loudness curve.

Personally I hear more details, if there's a hiss try lowering a bit around 16~20 kHz without losing the brillance. I find the voices doubled on the second verse more distinguishable, I hear reverb tails, I don't know, I hear slightly more stuff.

Maybe it's the SAB remastered, but it's a subtle compression and EQ then, but to me it makes a difference. Try detailing how much Wendy and Lisa and Prince there is on the final. I think I have a wider rainbow explosion at the end. Dynamics are a little better.

My top five:

Big Tall Wall: the version on SAB's original Dream Factory is muddy as hell, but I grabbed one from Youtube that was much better -- not sure if someone just pumped up the volume and tweaked the knobs but it would be great to have the actual recording straight from Prince's vault.

Electric Intercourse: I have this in horrible quality from something I grabbed as an MP3 years ago but it's still sublime -- of all the songs Prince has not released, this one is the priority along with All My Dreams.

Witness 4 The Prosecution (both versions) : Imagine those two being released in top quality, all cleaned up and remastered. The versions I have from SAB's aformentionned released are compelling as they are and would kick even more ass if they were to be released in top quality.

I Wonder: I have this in poor quality, his voice sounds screechy and there's a hiss in the background. This is an underground classic that would have been an interesting single if released -- for some reason it feels like a song MJ would have taken to no 1.

Moonbeam Levels and Old Friends 4 Sale: I can't decide which one I want most, these two need to be out for historical and musical reasons, seeing that they are two of the most notable recordings Prince ever did (I like the OF4S version released in the nineties, but the original is cruelly missing as a legendary recording).

Box o Chocolates has great sounding Witness on it. The OF4S on Parade Demos is as good as it gets, I think. I've never heard a good version of Big Tall Wall. Whatever version of Electric Intercourse is on the H2O boot is my favorite.

Totally agree here, I have a decent version of "I wonder" from a boot called "Perfect Unreleased Prince Volume 2" issued last year. The version on it is good, but it is not perfect. I would love to hear it polished and Prince's voice sounds like a really clear gospelly sound.

.

And just any complete version of Adonis and Bathsheba, I seem to be stuck with a 36 second soundbite of it. Does it exist?

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Adonis was leaked as a standalone a while back and just a few days ago as part of the new set Blast From the Past 2.0. It. Is. Glorious.

Are you insinuating that it's Prince himself leaking these tracks? Since the 80's? eek

I think whatever the source tapes are, Prince doesn't have 'em anymore. As for Prince being the source of boots, err.. of course he was the source! Prince wanted that underground element, to his music. I don't think he intended for it turn into big business, but he definitely hooked people up from time to time with unreleased stuff.

This interests me as well. The concert leaked in wonderful soundboard a couple years ago, but I've never seen a clear copy of the rehearsal. I don't recall - how is the sound on the video?
