This is still another example of something that Prince does that bothers me...
His whole life he has been the rebel, yet will appear on a show when he has something to promote. Why not stay true to himself? He obviously doesn't want the exposure and pressures of appearances. Find another way to promote the event! Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind. | |

At this point in his career, what could be considered, "mega"? An album release? A tour? Those seem to be the only things in his wheelhouse these days; & neither seems "mega." Of course, his reconciliation with WB came as a surprise, along with the deal that would grant him back his masters--but that's mega for the music geeks. The general GMA audience doesn't really care about his legal issues. They want music. And most of them want classic music / hits. Plectrum Electrum is not "mega" for that audience. And neither is 3rd Eye Girl. Safe bet is that this is hype. Of course it would be great if it were more than that. I e-mailed my Mom about it since she wantst to see Prince live again (she saw the Musicology tour) and she wrote back "could also be he's getting married". I never even thought of that. Seems unlikely but I thought it was a cute take.

It's gotta be WB remaster related. GMA would not bother with PLECTRUM on some Kobalt or whatever label. Even if Plectrum is on WB nobody cares. Has to be PR remaster release date. We will be lucky if we get a track list too. | |

Prince spent his entire early career fighting tooth and nail and doing everything he could to achieve mainstream success. Being a 'rebel' was part of the act that got him there. He wants to expose as many people to his announcement as possible to achieve whatever it is he's doing these days. Prince is absolutely being true to himself. This is what he does and what he's always done. | |

Time for a few more fun and cynical announcement possibilites? . So, . The announcmeent will be that P's lawyers have acquired ~1M IP addresses and related contact details of people who have shared a live performance recording, and he's announcing the largest copyright case agasint individuals ever. . The date of the second coming of Christ is confirmed and will be announced on GMA, starting with 'have you heard the good news?' . The deluxe PR remaster pack is ready but will only be made available to people who have purified themselves in Lake Minnetonka. .
