I dont think that's an unreasonable request considering you could be in for a treat if He turns up to play like he has done for $30.

Going to be in Minneapolis this weekend. As a person who has never been to Paisley Park I have a few questions because I am thinking that I will check out Paisley Park After Dark...

1) I am assuming there aren't tickets sold in advance and you just stand in line and pay as you go in. Is that correct?

2) When do people tend to start getting in line? Just curious if it tends to sell out. If I showed up at 11, would I probably still get in?

3) Shuttle service vs. driving and parking..... Any advice on this one?

4) Is there anything else I should consider when going?

1)correct - as far as I know - perhaps others have connections!

2)one never knows - it seems that as of lately u could still get in coming at a later time! (it seems)

3)Life time fitness near by and get on the shuttle! (UNLESS THE PARKING LOT AT PAISLEY PARK IS OPEN)

4)there are always other things to know - but that's all I know just reading on other's experiences!

Being that there is only one night this weekend (Saturday) and that it's his first in a few weeks, I would wager they will play. Still not sure if I can swing it, or want to waste my night, but I'll be downtown until around 10PM, and then I'll see if I'm up for driving another 30 minutes and spending $30 to call Prince's bluff.

If it breaks when it bends, you better not put it in.

As someone who's been to Paisley events many times - don't go assuming Prince will perform.

From my experience there, if the crowd is fun, lively, and dancing there's a good chance he will. Not guaranteed.

If they sit on their hands, sit, and wait - he probably won't.

That said, dancing to a dj spinning Prince's latest jams and classics, unrelated artists, and a live show from a local artist can be a fun night.

I would also suggest taking the shuttle bus. The shuttle riders normally get in first.

Good luck!

Few weeks? There were PPAD events this past friday and Saturday night, the band that played Friday night was soo freaking awesome, Alex Rossi and Root City + movie at the theater right after, Saturday nights band wasnt as seasoned but they had so much energy and did their thing, it was a really fun crowd, DJS both nights were awesome, danced the night away Saturday night, had a blast!

go go go!

1. Yes, short line, pay cash when you get in, there is an ATM at the front of the door

2. Staff will let you know when you can enter, wont be too long of a wait, btw 9 and 9:30 ideal time, performers do go on until around 10:30ish, this past Saturday doors open exactly at 9pm, Friday 9:40, there isnt a cut off time, if you get there at 11pm i dont think you'll have any issues entering

3. if you have $10 bucks to spare, take your car and park there

4. Eat, dance and have fun!

There were events last Friday and Saturday night as well. I haven't been going until almost midnight. The crowds have dwindled to about 200 on Saturday and even less on Friday. No need to line up in advance, or even get there when the doors opens, unless maybe they decide to promote this event on major media. Several people I have talked to think that the $30 cover charge for a local band that you can see at a local bar for under $10 is kind of BS. I think there is going to be a different DJ there this Saturday, rather than DJ Lenka Paris or the horrible other guy that "couldn't mix a glass of kool-aid".

Nope, sounds like it's this clown again-

DJ Michael Maxx (https://www.facebook.com/2themaxxent ), who spun all that 1990's stuff previously that no one wants to hear at the Park, like Macarena, Who Let the Dogs Out, etc.

Probably with that annoying film loop from Finding Nemo in the background again too. Terrible...

Not throwing down $30 for him and this "Solomon", sorry, unless someone (Funkenberry or otherwise) can assure us of a live performance.

I flew in from Dallas for the first one of these. I have tickets on hold but am leaning against going in the absence of any evidence that Prince will play. Judging by the Facebook page, it looks like this is turning into a showcase for local Minneapolis artists, which is great for folks who live there but not something to make a pilgrimage for.

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

The guy that was there this past Saturday night is called FundRai$er, no? I thought he was the same guy that you're talking about. When he is playing a song, he mutes it...so annoying and sounds like crap! He can't transition from one song into the next without f'ng it up.

there were two DJs last saturday, one in the L4OA room and one in the big room. they were both good but was he the guy in the big room? if so i like him best of the DJs 'cause he changes up the beat now and again. in my experience the DJs who transition 'smoothly' usually keep the same boring 1234 boom boom boom boom beat going all night long.

Yes. Fundraiser is the infamous Macarena DJ.

Michael Maxx wasn't the best on transitions (though not altogether awful either) but played a really fun selection. He was there the night Dessa performed. I enjoyed him.

It's the Fundraiser guy that is downright difficult to listen to. I'll sit out any night with him spinning unless there is a band I already know and enjoy playing. lol

I appreciate what they’re trying to do, but overall it just isn’t working. With the size of crowds the last few times (dwindling more and more) they need to move it into the L4OA/NPG Music Club room and set up a small stage in front like once upon a time. At least then it would feel more like a party instead of a smattering of people hanging out in an airplane hangar.

And yes, $30 (plus $10 parking) is too much to pay for a band you’ve never heard of. It’s no wonder the crowds are dwindling. I won’t be showing up again unless/until there’s a band I definitely want to see. If they dropped it to $10 I’d be more willing to take a chance now and again.

Yes I really think so and so did most of the people that were around me. He was terrible at transitioning from song to song. It was like someone kept bumping the record player at a house party. And the muting he was doing was irritating and works better when there are more than twenty or so people in a room.

It's funny how different people hear different things. He played some of my least favorite Prince tunes. Plus he left all the cursing in the songs which I thought was super weird considering Prince's stance on cursing these days.

I live in Dayton, OH, so I can't risk driving 11-12 hours, paying for a hotel room, then spending $30 for a local band and dj. I love Prince's shows, and would travel most anywhere if I KNEW he was performing, but the cost is way too much for the risk. I made that drive years ago and Prince didn't perform. I had a good time, but lets keep it real, we all want to see Prince and his band. I can see local bands for $5. Have fun for those that live in Minny. If I lived close, I'd be there. May God b with u.
