Once again, Prince shows how reactionary he is

Prince's gag about men bumping into him, followed by a shiver of disgust (Q & A, The Arsenio Hall show) once again shows Prince at his worst - or at least ignorant.

Yes, yes, yes, it was made in jest but it doesn't exactly say nothing about the man. Anyone clued into today's world knows where the lines of good taste are. I guess we can't blame him - he's in his mid-50's so it must be a generational thing. Still, looks like Arsenio get's it. He moved away from the subject pretty fast.

If he does not want dudes bumping him that is his business and choice.

What does that have to do with my point?

Touching another person without their consent is battery. Everyone is entitled to their personal space, which includes their body, and/or any item they may be holding. He may have various reasons for not wanting to be bumped by a man. Maybe he doesn't want to be bumped by men because men don't wash their hands after leaving the john. Maybe men are too hard, maybe he prefers a softer touch, who knows? Whatever the reason, he has one.

Ok, I'll repeat the question I gave to the other poster. What does this have to do with my point?

That's what I'm trying to tell you...you don't have a point. Just a lot of judgemental rants. By yo spiel, I could bump into you while you walking down the street trying to get to the john to do yo bizniz, then wham!!! I knock you down and the bizniz you were rushing to got taken care of right there! You good with that right, cause it was just a bump, no? Or am I missing the point?

There are plenty of examples of Prince giving the same humorous faux afraid/disgusted response to women invading his space on concerts/etc. The one that stands out to me is this: There there are pics on the internet of an over zealous woman straddling prince on the ONA tour he responds in the same jokng disgusted/frightened manner.
-
Also, a random dude did just ask if he could sit in Prince's lap a mere minutes after Prince said dudes especially have bad boundaries.

Yes, in all that verbiage you still managed to completely miss the point. The bit about me being judgemental gave me a good laugh, though.

Allow me: my focus here is what he considers to be humor, For him, it's funny to make jokes about the proximity between men ergo homosexuality. It's tacit, I agree, but we all get the implication - it just 'aint right. This shows his age and, to quote a well worn phrase of late, puts him on the "wrong side of history".

It's kind of like racists who don't claim to racist because it's only a joke.

As for your point - who cares how he deals with it when he's at parties.

He did not say anything about homosexuals. Which proves you have no point.

Really? I'm gay and about as out as you can be, but I didn't have any problem with that. I think of it like the Mike Rowe letter where he addressed a man who wrote him a crush letter. It's pretty clear he's coming back around, but you can bet on him being heterocentric. Relax.

What a dumbass thread. Lock this ish. Seriously? You cant understand the importance of personal space? Why dont you stop projecting your own insecurities about others being homophobic and realize that its perfectly fine and in fact, normal to not want strangers touching on you and kept at a distance.

Why, are you the one that bumped into him? If it's his experience that men tend to bump into him and he doesn't like it, then it's valid. It doesn't make him "the worst" or "ignorant". You don't have enough info to call him ignorant concerning this because you are not the one walking in his shoes. Why are you taking what pisses him off so personally? Sounds like an issue of transference.
