doesn't really add anything new (except the rap and the simpifying of the layers/multi tracks), i can see why it was canned for the William Orbit mixes. the ICNTTPOYM mix is a bit cheesy aswell.

first half cheese until u get into the track at 4:12 mark then amazing. The ICNTTPOYM mix - almost sounds like one of those more pop versions built for radio.

meh!, lot of fuss over nothing. Also comes with the Purple Rain string section which makes a fab rythem section to jam your guitar all over!. I like the leakers explanation for leaking these 3 tracks BTW!...apparently bootleg called 'connections' being held back with full versions of the snippets we all heard earlier this year/mid last year i.e. 'go' etc. Seriously the remixs add NOTHING to the originals..if you can't find them don't fret!

Batdance is ok, but the alternate to ICNTTPOYM is hot!

I can see why the Batdance remix was not released. It's fun to have it, though. The second part is cool.

The ICNTTPOYM remix, OTHO, sounds fantastic. When you consider all the remixes Prince has officially released over the years, it's hard to justify not releasing it!

The Purple Rain piano/strings mix is, well, just that. Several tracks extracted from the multitrack recording and downmixed. Interesting. But I'd kill for the actual multitrack recording. Or, better yet, for the multitrack recordings from the "Lovesexy" album. Ok, I wouldn't kill, but you know what I mean.

It's not that I dislike it, I just didn't see the relevance. This thread is about the newly leaked remix of Batdance, not the song in general.

I dig this, but the BDK rap and "Go, Batman!" chants are I think I'm gonna make an edit of this myself.

I like the Bat Mix and Vicki Vale Mix of Batdance better.

that interview with bob kane is just plain ignorance on his part - danny elfman infact did the score, prince (i believe) started the trend for a rock/pop album to go with the film aswell as the traditional score. Prince's songs were used conservatively during the film - would tarrantino have done pulp fiction the same way without batman coming first?

Yeah, that interview was obviously before the film was released and both he and even the interviewer were not aware that Danny Elfman was doing a soundtrack of mysterious background music. Tim Burton managed to blend Prince's songs The Future, Vicki Waiting, Partyman, Scandalous instrumental and Trust into appropriate scenes in the film very well.

I honestly do not understand why some people can't find these recently leaked tracks. It took me all of 30 seconds with google.

A few months ago there were several more "usual places" to find this stuff. They seem to be being shut down one by one. Nobody wants to risk losing another source to a stranger that might be Prince's people phishing for info.

Hmmm...not really the mix I was hoping for but still very cool that it's available after all these years!

Found it, rather like it... a nice addition to the collection. ICNTTPOYM rather good too. They will be integrated into the BSidesExtended playlist I'm making. Am I imagining it or does some of the bass sound like the original Batman tv series? Hope that Connections sees the light of day or do you think we've had the cream of the crop already?

This. I've turned down a couple people in private. I don't know you, I don't know if you can be trusted, and I'm not going to be the one to fuck up the source.

That being said, if I can find this stuff on page one of Google, so can Prince's people, so we should all be aware that shit could go down at any time.

I was glad to see a lot of people here putting down the Rap part.

I thought I was going to have to do it alone. BDK does ok and it could have been

a lot worse, but having said that, I don't like it. And yes could have done without the Go Batman Go Batman.

Other than that I think this is quite an awesome remix!! Especially the scond half.
