Zzz boring. He has needed a producer for years. Also there go those clumsy teenage boy lyrics again. He simply doesn't have the ability to write or deliver lyrics any longer

He's also done this song so many times already

Prince is in a serious battle with his age and instead of embraci
ng it he's fighting it

I love P... Had a huge influence on me and my high school and college years but, that song sucks and so does the video

Just keeping it real
Agree, the song nor the video have any substance

Video sucks. The story is just so boring and the girl is a very average dancer. He couldn't find a better dancer lol ? lol... Also the video doesn't fit with the song imo. I do like the song tho... Then again, Prince was never known for making "good" videos anyways. On to the next...

I actually was expecting something so really bad that it looks Ok to me lol

She's soooo young and unexperienced, he probably asked her to make a vid without him in it... it was not easy indeed! Many fans would be able to make fabulous vids WITH Prince in it (and I'd love to see some of those vids, LOL!!) but without him... Of course it was going to be controversial.

That said, I'm really tired of the unimaginative way female/male roles are potrayed in videos (and everywhere alesa, to be honest). The girl cooking breakfast dressed like a cartoon ready to get hot with someone who throws food on the floor with that "I'm the Alpha Male" attitude made me cringe. But all considered, it was not SO bad, and it reached the aim: people are talking. And that girl has something hotter than pancakes to put in her curriculum, good for her!

Will I watch it again? Mmmh... Doubt it. Hot girls don't do much for me anyway.

The song and video don't match. The video should have been slow and seductive. And featured P... being slow and seductive. The guy was way too aggressive and the dancing was too fast paced. And the video was just bland... which I guess, sort of matches seeing as it's one the blandest songs of P's career.

Maybe he's just paying forward the opportunities he felt he was given when young.

Then he should re-investigate his own career and realise that he slaved for years and learned things the hard way. The breaks he got were the result of hard work, not because some cougar "gave him a chance" because she had the hots for him.

If people passed on him cuz of his ageage and or/precieved lack of talent

Dude, do you even know ANYTHING about Prince's path to fame?

Yes...prince worked hard and slaved away...at no point did people ever help him. I know nothing mini-prince...please serve me a dissertation on how no one ever helped prince do anything. He wasn't given keys to a studio and alowed to use what wasn't his. No one signed him to their lable...npg and paisley partk records was given to him at birth by a fairy. Mrs. Anderson didn't afford him a place where he played guitar at all hours and play penthouse frurm with her son.

Prince existed outside society and any of its assistance or influence.

The people he has shown in this video is the demographic he so desperately wants: 20-30, all physically-fit light-skinned blacks and latinos. And ONLY this demographic. These are the real-world personifications of all the sketches he did for NPGMC and NPG Exodus releases.

.

To put it another way, guys that look like a younger him in some way and girls that look like a younger Vanity.

.

Problem is, this is not really Prince's fanbase. Not from what I've seen at concerts or fanclub meets or anything like that. His core demographic is only slightly younger than him, situated between 40-50 and pretty diverse.

.

Aside from that, a terrible video that has NOTHING to do with the song being played. The only redeeming moment for me was when they were kneeling by a table with masks on . . . I thought to myself that could've been the premise for an entirely different video. Reminded me of "The Max".

All good points that being said i think prince is at that point where he needs to NOT be in his videos, ala Elton John who stopped appearing in his in the 90's and now his videos are works of art, that is what Prince needs. I dont really have an opinion on this video because the song is pretty immature to begin with, as for the demographic thing i get that i just feel it was done this way to get played, where I dont know since no one plays videos or really cares about them at this point unless you are making a piece of artwork with your video, this video is nothing more than a chick with a nice body dancing, i can get that anywhere.

I LOVE Prince but this is what I never really liked about him. It sends the message that dark skin or brown skin African American/Latino women arent pretty enougth to be on t.v. etc I dont have a problem if that his "personal preference" for a mate but since he has such a diverse fanbase I would think he would be a little bit more open minded to different looks and skin tones.

On the video: The video looks like any other music video we have out now. Nice looking girl, explicit booty dancing etc I will admit I did like the table scene where the dancers were dancing with their hands. I actually thought that was pretty creative. Im not sure why Prince didnt make an appearance in the video that would have been cool. I'm up for artists not appearing in their videos but their has to be a premise or a story plot that makes sense. This video has nothing to do with the song. Its a great song but the video waters it down. Prince is not really known to make creative music videos anyway so I guess it doesnt matter...

I think its more the demogrpahic of who is in the video, looking at those dancers not one of them i would ever see coming to see the man unless they are coming with mom and dad. Prince still seems trapped by his failing to realize his age, i get that looks good for it and doesnt look 55, shit Rick Springfiled doesnt look 64 by any means, but look and reality are very different, i was glad PRINCE was not in this one cause he no business being there with these kids. Like an Elton John who stopped appearing in videos (mainly because he hates to make them) Prince needs to bow out and maybe just let better directors step in, to my knowledge everyone on this project was brand new, which is cool, but the video is a throwaway, granted the lead female dancer is hot, but im sure she will turn up in others videos. As for the song the more i hear it the more i dont like it.

I understand but this seems to be a pattern of Prince. Besides the Black Sweat video, Ive never seen him cast a dark skin African American/Latino lady as the love interest. Hell, let alone "brown skin". I just think that sends a bad message. I actually dont find a issue with Prince appearing in future videos. I just think he needs to create story plots that are more "realistic" and more appropiate to his age. We have enough of videos like this being made by younger artists. I think he should cater more to his fans and not to the casual listeners. I think the video really takes away from the song...

"Black Sweat", "Violet The Organ Grinder", "Gett Off", "Greatest Romance Ever Sold", "Fury", "Betcha By Gollywow" are videos where dark skinned people were prominently in the video. I don't think Prince owes it to anyone to case dark skinned love interests in his videos.

Well a further issue would be direction, Prince has lately been using a lot of brand new music video directors and to be honest i see very limited ideas from almost every video director. When i even heard this was going to be a video i thought PRINCE can not be in this because first he would be in it with a 20 something year old knowing him and that would just not look right it was one thing when he was 35 with Mayte but now being 55, he should have someone Mayte's age not someone that could be his daughter. As for him creating good video ideas MOST artists really dont, its rare that they do, its usually the director they get that comes up with it for the most part, some are more creative with their visuals obviously MJ was one of these, some others like Radiohead and u2 come to mind and of course Duran Duran, Bowie, but its really the directors game and medium. But Prince should take the Elton John hint, make some art/movie like videos it actually gets you played a lot on the online outlets, this new Elton John video for "Home Again" was his most viewed music video, and got him a top 5 album, not bad for a 66 year old.

There's no sign of Dave Chappelle, but there's a Chipmunk (unclear which one), pancakes and a slew of dancers dressed in black a la Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer's version) in Prince's Breakfast Can Wait video.

There's no sign of Prince, either. Chappelle dressed up like him for the satrical lyric video. Who knew Prince had a sense of humor? The official one, out on Vevo now, stars the director of the video, 18-year old Danielle Curiel, plays a decidedly sexier version of the purple superstar. Who is she? Prince's new protege, it seems. He gave her artistic freedom of the video when he read her proposal for it.

About halfway through the video, one of the Chipmunks chimes in. You have to see it to understand.

Prince, who recently joined the social media wagon, has been drumming up interest in new music, recorded with his 21-piece supergroup The New Power Generation and rock band, 3RDEYEGIRL. Although a release date has yet to be confirmed, the tentatively named Plectrum Electrum, is due out in Jan. 2014.

I can't figure out why Prince would be proud of this. Its all over his twitter. Its really embarrassing and the fact that the girl is only 18 only makes it worse. This could have been classier and much sexier if he used an older WOMAN, not a little girl and had an actual story line with Prince in it. With only the lead female dancing on the chorus.

No, Im not fucking kidding. The majority rule is that the video is utter crap. Its embarrassing and cheap. Ghetto and not on the level of Prince prestige. Sure its a great opportunity for a young girl but thats about all thats remarkable about this video or collaboration.

Seems he never learns though - the song has been available forever, the single cover got loads of attention - all free promo, but that too was months ago, and now a video with no album info on the horizon at all. So it's promoting, well, nothing at all. Oh Prince, get a f-ing manager, if only in name only, just get a decent dogs body who can put all the pieces together - and not some 22yo girl you wanna bone.

I'm gonna assume that this is the official 'first single' from his new album? hmmm None of us knows for sure, but that's what I'm gonna believe, until proven otherwise lol
