For You (although I quite enjoy its simplicity) Graffiti Bridge (the first overbloated album project) Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic (seemingly lost in neither artistic or commercial territory) The Slaughterhouse (a guilty pleasure of mine) The Gold Experience / Emancipation / 3121 (tarnished by production aesthetics, even though each contain strong material) | |

least fav albums: N.E.W.S. Xpectation C-Note One Nite Alone...Live Indigo Nights
least fav 5 proper P albums: Crystal Ball - too much filler and too many remixes The Chocolate Invasion - yawn The Slaughterhouse - double yawn The Black Album - overrated IMO Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic - the 'remix' album - pointless

No Prince album is bad because there's always at least one good track on any of them. Let me say the ones I just can't listen to except for those occasional good tracks.
Batman Graffiti Bridge (those were the first real disappointments.)

Many people have mentioned Graffiti Bridge, which I think is very underrated. It has some of my favourite Prince songs, though some of the other artists' songs are a little second-rate.
But my worst Prince albums (in no particualr order) ...
For You The Slaughterhouse The Rainbow Children Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic Xpectation

wow this is harder than picking his best 5 for shure .. there are so many bad ones to pick from
1. THE GOLD EXPRRRIENCE .. prince brings bad rapping and horrible lyrics to a whole ... nutha .. level!
B. RAINBOW CHILLIN .. prince tortures us with warm tones and decent music while completely obliterating any chance of enjoying the record with his religious blathering mixed with sex toys and darth vader.
III. LOTUSFLEUR ... who is steve and why is he in a prince song? did he love the artwork in motel 8 and commission the artist for the album art? dreamer sounds like someone sucked the life out of voodoo chile .. MNPLSound is actually the better record ..
FORE!. PLECTRUM ERECTUM .. screwdriver is perhaps the worst song prince has ever recorded .. followed closely by everything else from the 3rdEye crew .. i do enjoy the live shows but the classics drive the show .. as they should .. they are far better material
5 / 6 TWENTY10 / PLANET EARTH .. because now prince thinks Guitar and Laydown are hits and will keep putting them in the live set | |

Why are so many people here shitting on For You? Remember this was his FIRST album! A 20 year old kid writing, producing and playing all the instruments. The fact that his later albums are better says nothing. Try to see For You as what it is. An excellent debut album. | |

Yeah, those 5 are easily my least played Prince albums. At least Musicology and Lotus Flow3r were good times... otherwise his output after Rave has been pretty dire.
