Drama queen exit posts over this seems kinda silly. Haven't kept up with it all but it seems like a gnats fart compared to the dark days of the collective and all that silliness. If you didn't leave through that, you're swinging on P's balls for life.

Drama queen exit posts.....I love that ...how perfectly put. lol

Depending on the feel of the moment, people may exit in a more loud and dramatic way but I noticed for myself that interest for what prince does or publishes has been dwindling.

The sillyness of his persona and PR antics, together with the lack of real ass-kicking music has made me care less and less. I still come here to see whether there is indeed something major happening in prince world, but most of the time there isn't.

IF he does something interesting it's usually short-lived or badly-organised and you can be sure that within a very short time-span he succeeds in shooting himself in the foot through some statement or a completely insane and stupid business decision.

Or; you get a wave of big statements on reptitive mode when he's about to launch something (Something big is coming, last time he'll play the hits...), or something other but equally vage that amounts in very little. Much ado about nothing when you compare it to what will actually materialise and as such dissapointing the fans.

Yes, you can take from it what you like and don't take it as seriously, which is basically what Ido, but it also means I can be bothered with the whole unpractical fake mystery and exclusiveness of the live-streams, or the way he now issues music.

It's just too much hassle over little or nothing.

Getting older also meant I learned about other really great music along the way that is easier to come by and is to be enjoyed without the enormous puffed up purple PR cloud and all the sensitivity that comes with it.

So next to the more vocal exits like the one from the writer of the thread, there will be no doubt also some other slow but sure exits each time the Prince nonsense outweighs the reasons why people came to the site to begin with.

You take out of it what you like and don't take it too seriously, but after a while you notice there isn't all that much to take.

Fanbase is NOT the same as "the org", Nikki. Next time he plays live, I'm sure 90% of the people who go won't even know about this. Hey, I've got records by Chuck Berry, James Brown & Ike Turner. Prince is a sweetheart compared to those guys! I agree that the way Serpan was treated was rude, but not buying a record you want to hear simply because the artist does things you disagree with... that's nonsense! [Edited 7/29/13 14:27pm]

Okay then. The Org. is a huge chunk of Prince's fanbase! There are Orger's here from all over the world. We all have one thing in common and thats our love for the man's music. If thats not a fanbase or similar to one then I guess I don't know what a fanbase is. Prince is losing the most important part of his fanbase. The ones that have been with him through thick and thin. The ones that stood by him when Grafitti Bridge was in theaters! Whose listened/heard of FixUrLifeUp besides us? Secondly of course Prince is a sweetheart compared to IKE TURNER. Anyway I get what you're saying. This is a petty reason to stop buying Prince's merchandise when he could've done something way worse. Some people just get tired of supporting people who couldn't give 3 shits. In the words of Sweet Brown "Ain't nobody got time for that".

sorry nikki but supersoulfighter is right (I've been to many shows and not ever seen another orger) and it also saddens me that so many people have this sense of entitlement when it comes to stars like Prince

he's just a guy and at the end of the day he doesn't want his every move tracked

if you notice earlier in the livestream chat (that nobody seems to have posted), Serpan asks what is going to happen next with 3EG and there is no reply so after a while he asks the same thing again as if he can't wait to tweet that shit out right away - so he kind of started it when he asked again

What?! Really?!! DAMMIT I thought I made a point! DX My day will come. Anyway, yeah it is sorta sad, but thats just another thing that comes with being a celebrity.

Well at least this thread provides a natural continuation of the "we love Serpan" thread, which was locked. Maybe this one will be more civil.

Nope. I feel pretty much the same. All this talk of "lighten up", "it's not that serious", "Get over it", "it's not the first time..." etc are kinda laughable, because it just makes you all sound like enablers.

He'll not be getting any more of my hard-earned ca$h any more that's fo' sho'. 30 years was a pretty good run, but that LiveStream chat was more than just badly handled - it was the online equivalent of bullying and there are things I find acceptable, and things that I don't. That was one of them. You may not agree with that, and that's fine, but I don't give a shit if it's Prince or not, if any of my friends spoke to me online the way that whole sorry mess went down, there would be a serious smackdown coming their way. Arrogance breeds contempt.

Regardless of whether or not it was Prince (I agree with Databank personally), he needs to know what his "underlings" are doing and how they're doing it and stop thinking about himself for 2 seconds and give a shit about what's going on around him. "Live in the moment" Prince, right? lol ...twat.

All this pseudo-bable talk he does of "those that understand are my real fans...sorry, I mean, friends" may have been cute years ago, but it's beyond old now. That whole "Mr Mysteriosa" schtick worked in the 80's not so much any more Mr Vegas Revueshow.

Well Im not that interested in his recent music output as I used 2 be in the past, mostly cuz his music is getting more and more lame but he still drops some good songs at times. I start 2 believe that Lotusflow3r was his last great album. Most of his recent songs gets boring quickly and I don't even listen 2 most of his latest albums anymore but I can still listen 2 his older albums. I also find myself listening 2 other great artists more and more instead of Prince. But I still follow him and whenever he release something new I listen 2 it but without that excitement I used 2 feel. And of course, him behavior towards fans isn't goin 2 make things better, Prince failed completely 2 communicate with his fans. Instead he turns them against him which is sad.

Being on this site has shown me one thing for sure. People can be maen over the internet. Not just rock stars(and/or their staff). This site is full of disrespectful bullies who say all types of shit then post "Well that my honest opinion" or "if you don't like it then why don't you just ignore it" or the ever famous lol after some bitchy, rude, hateful comment. Last time I checked we're all human beings and a bit fucked up in our own ways(Prince included). Stop taking song lyrics to be a literal testament of how any artist is in their daily lives. Enjoy the art and admire the artist but get over trying to create this image of an elevated individual that we should hold to a higher standard. Especially since we don't ourselves or each other to that high standard.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I've been a fan of P for about thirty years. I've been to concerts, bought every single album he's released, and put up with Graffiti Bridge. I've also defended his public actions to my friends and family... But not anymore. After reading the dialogue between this Serpan individual and the rep at 3rdeyegirl, I've finally become disgusted with how he, his organization, and how he allows his organization, to treat his fans. Between Serpan, the individual who had those awesomely done P dolls, and other fan sites, when does one say enough is enough? Unfortunately I won't be investing any more $ on the songs and merchandise the NPG puts out, nor will I buy concert tickets. I can't support someone who's legacy looks to end up pissing on so many people, whether its his band members(past, present, and future), his associates, and his fans. This Serpan debacle was my final straw. Yes, it was likely the verbiage of a band member, a web, aster, or even a groupie, but it still boils down to the lack of "quality control", or "caring", he and his organization displays so readily. I realize this post may produce a lot of trolling and name-calling, but this is where I'm at. I don't have time in my life to support negativity, whenever possible. The music is where the genius is at... However, my mind has trouble separating the songs about love and "love4oneanother" from a man who approaches, and allows his organization to approach, his fans in such an embarrassing manner.

Okay you are mad because someone who works for Prince is rude and Prince did not like those stupid dolls. Okay biggrin

In order to be enablers we would have to know Prince. I do not know him and you do not either. We have no realationship with this man. I am beginning to think that some people on this board are to invested in what P does in his professional or personal life and some of you need to step away and get a grip.

For every dollar that you don't spend on Prince, I will spend $10.

Get a freaking grip.

The reason that Prince is still around, still innovating, still making kick-ass music, still doing stellar live performances........ is purely because he always kept a tight grip on his art.

And some people wanna throw away the endless joy this man his provided to all of us..... over what? The fact that he told a fan to not tweet every single thing said in a livestream, thus giving people less incentive to watch the streams in the first place if they could go somewhere else to read a play-by-play?

If you ain't digging the grooves, any more, then say so, and see ya later. Your prerogative. But don't pretend it's about something else. Either enjoy the art, or don't. Everything else is secondary, and you don't gotta agree..... it makes no difference.

I feel you. I don't think I have spent money on anything Prince-related since the Musicology tour. No more concerts because the ticket prices have been too high. And he hasn't put out any new music (at least officially) that I have liked enough to buy. I used to be a hardcore fan, too. Bought all his CDs and saw him live every time he came near where I lived.

During these last 10 years, I have been to a lot of concerts by other artists, and bought their CDs and souveniers. So I guess I was already halfway out the door before this whole mess with Serpan happened. I still love music, but not Prince so much any more. Of course he can treat people however he wants to, but I'll keep spending my money elsewhere if Prince continues on the path he's on.

I am still mad about his homophobic attitudes toward Wendy & Lisa over the years and there was a period I stopped buying his stuff because of it. The dude comes accross as a major douchebag a lot of the time...that is nothing new.

However I still listen to his old stuff, and like hearing new stuff as some of it has been pretty good. But I have a life and work so don't care if I miss his shows. If he did some intimate shows again with Eric Leeds, Sheila, Wendy, & Lisa (Which I know will never happen), I would make a point to go but other than that dream line up I don't care too much anymore. Some of it has to do with how he treats his fans and some has to do with my age. But I will always come here as for some reason I still want to know what is going on. I tried to stop but always seem to come back to the purple for some reason. If the org stops THEN I could very well completely stop careing as this how I get my info.
