Dumber shit has never been written.

Plus, it's baffling that people who have been on the journey with Prince, who have seen him use sex as a metaphor for everything from revolution to rebirth to social protest to spiritual transport, would still look at sex as cheap, "dirty" and without complexity or profundity. This is just so cliche. Prince has elevated sex more and given it more dimension than any other artist and the short-sightedness of this conversation is absurd.

You really didn't address the real issue. Why do u want prince to conform to who u think he should be?

Let me first say that I don't know your posting history. So, my comment to your post is more a response to others on this site because your post seems to signify the hypocrisy on this site. And here's how. Your above comment is what I and others have been saying for years to all of the people who say that Prince should stop discussing his religion and black politics in his music. Now, putting the shoe on the other foot, RDHull is saying that the lyrics to "Breakfast Can Wait" are crap, which they are, and now all the people who have criticized Prince for the past twelve years are praising how great "Breakfast Can Wait" and "Screwdriver" are and completely ignoring how lame ass and juvenile the lyrics are. Let me be clear. I love the music of both, but both are difficult listens because the lyrics are some of the most juvenile bullshit that I've ever heard. So, yes, it does smack of hypocrisy that many of these same people who have been tripping for years over Prince's lyrics can't see how poorly crafted these lyrics are. I guess as long as Prince isn't a black man thinking seriously about religion and politics, he can write any bullshit lyrics he wants as long as a good number of his fans can retain the myth of the exotic half-breed who just wants to fuck. Well, y’all go ahead and “Dance On” with your sexually “Colonized minds”. I’mma just keep laughing at the hypocrisy, especially the next time any of y’all utter one bad word about TRC, cause the lameness of the lyrics of “Screwdriver” and “Breakfast Can Wait” are so bad that they are offensive.

Again, I don’t know if you are one of the people who have been calling Prince racist, sexist, and a fool for embracing a traditional religion, but your comment seems to speak directly for those hypocrites who are now lapping up “Screwdriver” and “Breakfast Can Wait”.

You're making no sense. So, just give it up. YOu wrote a bullshyt statement, can't back it up. And now, with your ignorance of my posting history write dumb shyt like "butt kisser" which shows you're reaching a point of desperation.

Dude, you're boring and grasping.

I think we shouldn't take every single song Prince writes as a manifesto of his beliefs/intentions for the future. He writes a lot... Some songs will be profound and full of meaning, others will be silly and funny, others will be sexy... That's the way he's always been, and I wouldn't be surpirsed if he wrote some sex innuendo in his songs when he'll be in his 80s or 90s... Even if at that point he may not remeber exactly why lol

I like his spiritual research in music and appreciate lyrics that have a meaning (socially or spiritually too) in general. And I must say, I like the fact that he quitted cirse and all that stuff.

But it seems funny in some way that people claim for Prince to have "some decendy" in his songs. I mean. Prince. Decency??

He says what he wants... That's one of the things I like about him, even if it makes embarassing to be a fan sometimes biggrin

I agree smile

I wanna taste you, so sweet. Delicious creamy taste from a lover petite...
