yeah i was wondering if Dorothy Parker was that version and Stimulation is another name for something we already have?

When you hear "Stimulation" you'll know it's "Stimulation"... Hard to give it another name...

BTW this is an edited/overdubbed version (possibly proposed single version so no album version) of the "Rave Unto The joy Fantastic" 1989 version...

Forgot to say that the 12" "Trust"/"Vicki Waiting" is also out there (correction: only "Trust" is tagged, "Vicki Waiting" is completely as is...)

I do not know who finally is throwing this stuff out online, but my bet is it's not possible to burn any bridges anymore that's why these are coming out now... Backstabbing an invisible back, but in the end, who cares, they're tagged anyway...

Very interesting post indeed.

Whoever is throwing these jewels from the vault after all this time, a big THANK YOU to him. God bless him.

wow. "stimulation" might also be 'released' sometime in the (near) future?

that's another track i've been very curious about. it will be great to hear a

bit more from the Rave 89 album. eventho, as you point out this will not be

the album version but a single edit/dub. either way. wow.

i like the longer version/different mix(?) of vicky waiting a lot so i'm sure a

longer version of "trust" will also go down a treat.

overall, i guess what i'm trying to say is: excited excited excited

and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

People... After being bombarded with org notes and emails; PLEASE FUCKING STOP THAT SHIT!

Like I said before, I do NOT know anything about who released these outtakes or where they could be found, other than that these have been around for a long time and have been purposefully tagged to follow suspect traders...

The outtakes I mentioned were brought to my attention (THIS WAS ALMOST A YEAR AGO!) by someone on here just as a heads up because that person knew these and the deal from wayback when when these were shared untagged...

And questions about rumoured outtakes also doing the rounds ("Purple Rain" string recordings, unreleased Batdance remix, "The Max" '88, "The Dance Electric" vocal dubs, "Fuchsia Light", "Hold Me" and "Big Tall Wall") people, I don't know who is releasing these and where or when simply because I don't know who has these other than the people who have the untagged versions (hell, maybe these ARE the untagged versions and if they are then heads are going to roll...)

I'm not in some inner circle or "in the know", all I know is that these have been shared to a select few many years ago and now (logically if you consider the source of some of these) are seemingly being released hassle free and without consequences...

Most of these were tagged after they were shared way back when and these new tagged versions are now doing the rounds... The initial non-tagged versions are AFAIK still not doing the rounds except for "Vicki Waiting" 12" so far as I heard...

Me too lol

Thanks a lot for the clarifications Neversin.

What I can tell is that, of all the outtakes you mentioned above, only some are in circulation with the general public. The versions you mention of Stimulation, Purple Rain Strings, Trust, The Dance Electric Vocal Dub (whatever that is), Hold Me (a new version?) and that longer version of Dorothy Parker may be circulating among some new circles and available to more people than they should have been in the first place, but they've not been thrown to the masses the way the other tracks have (Vicki Waiting, Big Tall Wall, American In Paris, Baby Go-Go, Our Destiny, Lust U Always, 4 Lust, The Max and The Line and, of course now A Couple Of Miles). Same goes for The Flesh album in its entirety: maybe more people have it than should, but definitely not everyone.

I apologize to the people who don't want these songs out (which, once again, I can respect) but obviously I want to hear the stuff just like anybody so I hope that more and more stuff will leak and my thanks go to whoever shares it cool

I find it kinda odd what is happening lately: for a long time it was kind of us vs. Prince, with fans sharing a consensus that the internet should be a free marketplace for all to share bootlegs and out-of-print music and videos and whatever. And now, all of a sudden, we have that situation with The Vault book with the authors being very vocal about how they disapprove, and now new Prince outtakes leak and some people are being very vocal as well about how they disapprove, and I don't wanna take sides but in both cases I find it quite an interesting development eek

The flesh recordings, everybody'a jam & the paisley jam recordings are not circulating but people do have them. To my knowledge oDJ brainchild (an associate of questlove's) has them. he tweeted me a sample of 12 keys & then a screenshot of his iTunes with those recordings. 9/10 he got them from Alan Leeds. This stuff is out there. Just gotta know the right people & avenues. I can't wait til we get them all.

Sorry I meant Fuschia Light which I think has a new version on PUP (too lazy to check) IDK why I've always confused both songs lol

I also forgot Can I Play With U? in my list, though the leak is a bit older.

Yep, and it came from a Miles Davis fan, AFAIK.

I was very surprised when Q posted More Bounce 2 The Ounce online, not even anonymously. Mr. Leeds is not the kind of guy to share tapes with people who are susceptible to leak them, so IDK. Questlove and co. are definitely another possible source for more leaks, outside of the collectors/fans I mean.

It's a very good news anyway if not only the album but the full sessions are also circulating in some circles.

Prince'd better release all that stuff if you ask me lol

I know it has been shared with a few fans a coupla months ago, under the promise that they wouldn't share it online or even mention that they have it on forums, as it may make some people angry and compromise the future leak of the full album. So I hope this is an "authorized" preview of what's to come and not someone who fucked up. If it is an "unauthorized" leak, I beg the powers that be not to punish the whole community out of a single person's mistake. If it's the "legit" preview of an upcoming full album leak, then my deep thanks go to everyone involved.

The Flesh is by far the most wanted unreleased-uncirculating Prince project, it would definitely be a wonderful thing to have it in its entirety. This track alone is a gem!

I wonder if only the album is in possession of elite collectors or if, by some miracle, the Paisley Jam and Everybody Jam sessions may be out as well. That would be astonishing to hear

cool biggrin

Databank,

This is not a good move for whomever did this, I can tell you that much.

It was supposed to stay behind closed doors, period...

The reason osme bootleg songs are kept away from public sharing is because the source would get in trouble or have their reputation possibly ruined.

It's similar to a film crew member showing his friends an outtake or rough cut of a movie he is part of (or was part of) but doens't want them to post it on youtube, because he would get in trouble with the film production company and then possible have a reputation of not being trustworthy to the pro film crowd.
