Whatever you're seeing is an optical illusion. The fabric is your basic paisley brocade.

A brocade is a very good way to get around having your blacks match, though - the varying weaves on the face all reflect light differently, so they all look to be different colors (even if they're the same). The various trims don't hurt, either.

Yes, I like the natural look. For the other pics, looks like he had it 'pressed and curled' temporarily (non-permed), just for some of the promo pics where his hair appears straightened. As we know, with various textures of Black American/African-American hair, worn in its natural state it tends to grow thicker and faster, when the chemicals are left out, and taken care of well.

I was thinking about that too, I really hope he's keeping this look. I remember seeing his burnt sideburns last year and it's not a nice look. Keep it "natural" princey!

It is nice to see him going natural and non-toxic finally with the hair. Everything else looks bland and contrived. Yet, another young women he has selected on appearance rather than talent and ability. The way he still objectifies women at his age is sad and repulsive. He's been wearing all kinds of colors during his Welcome 2 tour so I don't think the colors in this shoot are too bad, I like the look, and I love the texture of the look

Right! It is absolutely NOT a wig... and if these people knew anything about textured hair they would know that nappy hair always looks fuller when not straightened.

Prince ALWAYS had a FULL head of hair (just look at him in the past). He is not balding or thinning... he is GREY.

Anybody with grey roots and dark hair will photograph as if the hair is sparse ... Prince doesn't have a sparse head of hair. That nucca is a hairy little beast. Always was... always will be. Glorious naps and all!

1. I'm not seeing the relevance my avatar has to do with this at all. And I'm not saying he never had any kind of extensions.

2. I'm well aware of that fact. Lots of peoples hair may thin as they age but people age differently. I know people Princes age and above who still have a full head of hair. They might have some gray strands but they still got it. Plus, I think he probably took good care of his hair relaxers aside.

3. It looks like its all his real hair to me, right out the scalp. Hence why I made my earlier statement, of course thats just my opinion.

And last, it all depends on how a person meant it. I do hair, trained in ethic hair especially... Prince never wore a wig, weaves or extensions.

Skylight's avatar shows Prince when he would wear his hair relaxed then roller set for fullness.

He had an amazing hair stylist at that time and Prince's hair game was at its zenith.

Black people can grow their hair VERY long down thier backs if they know how to take proper care of their specific hair texture. Everyone has a different head of hair, so every head of ethic hair usually has up to 5 different textures in one head of hair.

You need to look at all those little West Indian and Haitian girls and ladies with the nappiest heads of hair and sporting their locks way DOWN their backs and thick as hell.

Not all black people need to wear weaves/wigs/extensions. FLOTUS is another example.

Just because you don't know how to take care of your hair doesn't mean that Prince doesn't. People need to stop it with this wig nonsense. He hairline isn't even receeding to a point where its even an issue.

Funny how the otherwise gawdy trim (cording! ) works with the fabric. Prince like to walk on the edge with his clothing choices. I like it.

The sliders (EQ) are regular on an acousticaster. They did put a mirror pickguard on it, though, over the entire body. I believe it is still the seafoam green acousticaster he played during '7' back in 1993. If I'm not mistaken you can see the orginal body from the side on one of the pictures and it seems to be the seafoam green from back then.

Yes, as I said previously, that is a custom guitar (with Prince's symbol inlayed as fret markers).

The sliders are a built-in graphic equalizer to shape the tone, likely with a gain slider as well.

This is an acoustic guitar with piezo pickup, similar to the great Godin guitars of Canada.

I didn't see that as an Acousticaster, but good point... could be a customized one.

I was just thinking that since he has custom inlays for fret markers, then perhaps the entire guitar was a custom job.
