Toure' writing a book on Prince's Music. Earlier today, Music Journalist and Author Toure' announced on Twitter that he was writing a book on Prince's music.
@Toure Wife read what I wrote in my Prince book about the song "Sister." Now she wants a lawyer to make sure I can write what I wrote. #scandalous ?
Thoughts? I know there's been many books written on Prince, I'm not sure what Toure' can write about Prince that someone like Per Nilsson hadn't already. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!! | |

It might be in the same vien as Dave Hill's "Pop Life" given Toure's habbit of writing essays. We'll see.

Toure is scheduled to be at Harvard University March 20, 21 & 22 speaking about the relationship between Prince & Gen X. It is NOT a biography but a deconstruction. | |

ahhhh and Kenneth Muir is also writing a new book, based on the behind the scenes struggle and making of Purple Rain. I'll bet this book is decent, considering Muir's past writings ie. Spinal Tap, etc.

Toure played basketball with Prince. So he does know him very well....I can trust a book by him. I've chatted with him a couple times he is very knowledgeable & articulate....  will ALWAYS think of  like a "ACT OF GOD"! From what I gather based on his tweets and other past comments about his project, his take is more cultural criticism, especially looking at the religious/spiritual dimensions of Prince and his relationship to his audience ("Gen X").

While I have never though much of Toure, it would be productive if some knowledgeable Prince fans attended these lectures to ask questions and provide insight so that he does not get it wrong. Of course, he'll write the book that he wants to right, but it could impact his work, even slightly, if he knew that knowledgeable Prince fans will be reading his book and commenting on it. If I were in the area, I would certainly go and sit right up front with my bad self. | |

roll dem eyes all u want 2 but the fact remains ur comment about playing basketball with someone does NOT equate 2 someone 'KNOWING" anyone. hell prince has walked behind me and spoke 2 me asking 2 be excused, does that mean i know him? or does the fact that i have been up on stage at a sheila e. concert and did a free style, does that mean that i know her?
