Wow, I had the same thing happen at an Elton John concert last November! When they continued at full volume during a beautiful, soft ballad, I turned around and said politely, "Can you guys just tone it down a bit please?"

They fell silent. I was a hero!

About a minute later I was also wearing one of the many sweet, sticky alcoholic beverages they had bought during the course of the concert.

While I whole-heartedly agree with your post, which is why I don't have a twitter account and am not on Facebook, I do have faint hope, very faint indeed, that Prince will one day use the internet as a way to sell stuff properly. Even if it's verified that Prince has a twitter account, I probably would not become a follower unless it was clear that there would be perks to get music and video. And as crass as this may sound, while I do tend to enjoy a good deal of the org, the primary reason I'm a member is to get information about upcoming tours and available music and video--official and boot. So, I don't want to know what Prince had for breakfast or what he's wearing or where he went shopping, but I'd like to know about a new album, video, or tour. Err, excuse me, this is the internet so I better change that to new digital release, DVD, and virtual reality tour. Remember the Glam Slam tri-coastal birthday performances; anything is possible now. So, when Prince starts tweeting about tours and music for sale, y’all be sure to post it on the org.
