LOL, no. I distinctly remember the post, and nothing about artwork was mentioned. In fact, I don't even think any artwork existed at the time. IIRC, these tracks were free downloads from NPG Music Club, with no artwork, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, I still remember reading the post and saying, "There's no way someone figured that out. This is either Prince or someone from his camp doing this, because it's way to obscure for anyone to have figured out on their own".

Yeah, the tracks were released individually to members and were supposed to only be available to members from the general location of the recordings. The links were soon shared so we could all get all of them. It was later released as the CNOTE compilation. I seem to also remember that they were released as a small sweetner because the club membership had underdelivered.

I personally didn't think P's peeps were involved in the coining of the name cnote and think it was something they picked up on and ran with.

Well, obviously not, if you overthink it. I was asking whether someone from Prince's camp shared that it's called "Boy". I'm not overthinking anything, just asking where this came from.
