I have just paid about $100 for a still sealed USA For You LP with sticker that says - contains the hit single Soft and Wet

I have been looking for a sealed stickered version for about 25 years so I am very happy with that one.

I am very much intersted to know if autographed For You albums do exist, as photos exist while Prince is signing them back in 1978 ...

I spent $150 on a bootleg compilation of TV Appearances from 1980 - 2006, it's 6 DVD's. As for CD's the 'Dreams' bootleg ran me $59.98.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I just paid $1,000 for the Japanese CD of Apollonia 6. I sure hope it isn't a fake. Anyone have an opinion? See here:

Very nice item. Super rare. There was one on ebay a couple of years ago, I gave up bidding at £300, I think it made close to £500, it was listed as very good condition and it was missing the obi.

I've been searching for one for several months now and this is the first one I saw that looks legitimate, so I grabbed it. I'll take a close look at the inner ring when it arrives to make sure, but based on the seller's feedback and the other items he's selling, I think it's real.

Have I won the thread so far? lol

Nope, the Australian 12" single says "extended dance mix" but in reality it's just the album version of the song.

I can't remember but it was probably The Hits/The B Sides. I just remember it was a rediculous amount of money just to get three or four new songs with a bunch of old songs I already had. If it had been released in this day and age, I would have just downloaded the new songs for free because crazy prices like that just to get a few new songs are a perfect reason to download.

So no one here has bought the Prince Opus? lol

I feel actually quite ashamed to admit that the most I've paid for a Prince record is 25 euros (33 dollars) for a Lotusflower cd. I have about 100 Prince records, but after seeing the rarities you guys have, I feel like I don't own anything even worth mentioning. The only item I've got that could be even some what rare is a promo cd single of The One.

Oh, nothing. I was just perplexed 'cause years ago I found the bootlegs you mentioned, and I didn't pay anything, so I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic. I guess not. neutral

I cant remember how much i paid for them, but i do own a 2 'white' black album promo LPs and 1 'grey' black album promo complete with letter to the WB Executive which i know is rare. Im listed on the website owning the above records. I also have the orange one, but then again, so do most people.

I have a few others that people have already posted. I especially like Strange Tales from the Rain and His Majesty's Pop Life LPs together with some of the rare 12" singles. Its fun to get them out now and again and look through them.

Whilst an avid collector of all things rare, i still happily play the records on my turntable - even the Picture Discs...rebel that I am wink

Great thread btw smile

One reason I was willing to pay that price is that I expect it will only continue to go up in value. They are selling *fakes* on Amazon Marketplace for more than $100 each. If there is ever a remastered version, the original might not be quite as sought-after, but I think it will always be valuable. Anyway, that's what I told my wife. lol
