Good stuff! And I love the artist's explanation:

"an attempt to cleanse myself from what I had been making and felt was becoming cynical and self-indulgent work. I wanted to make something that made me happy. It worked. Prince changed my life and view on the world at a young age (as a friend recently said: "artists help us see colors we didn't notice before"), and I wanted to pay tribute to a man that has influenced and inspired me like no other. As an amazing by-product, the artwork began getting a lot of attention via social media, and the feedback has blown me away."

UPDATED INFORMATION regarding Le Petit Prince (from http://www.troygua.com/wo...it-prince/)

Hello, friends.

Le Petit Prince was made late in 2011 in an attempt to cleanse myself from what I had been making and felt was becoming cynical and self-indulgent work. I wanted to make something that made me happy. It worked. Prince changed my life and view on the world at a young age (as a friend recently said: "artists help us see colors we didn't notice before"), and I wanted to pay tribute to a man that has influenced and inspired me like no other. As an amazing by-product, the artwork began getting a lot of attention via social media, and the feedback has blown me away. I'm so grateful to have met so many wonderful, positive, loving and supportive people because of this little guy. It really has made me feel like I am indeed on the right path. I can't thank you enough for all the positivity.

Now, to address some frequently asked questions: What you are seeing is various shots of a unique doll wearing different clothes - there is ONLY ONE, and he's not for sale at this point. As for the possibility of reproduction, I have no intention or desire to break any laws or piss off my hero, so without the express consent and cooperation from Prince himself, I will not be reproducing this artwork. I would love nothing more than to put Le Petit Prince in the hands of true fans, but without Prince, it can’t happen. Prince, if you’re out there, I’d love to hear from you.

If the time comes when I am able to make reproductions and you have interest in a limited edition, please send your contact information to troy@troygua.com and I will keep you up to speed. Be advised that this is highly crafted, labor intensive artwork, and must be priced accordingly.

In the meantime, please enjoy the adventures of Le Petit Prince - I consider these images part of the artwork, let them serve you in lieu of the tangible. Feel free to share them, but I ask only that you give me credit and link them back to this site (http://www.troygua.com/wo...it-prince/). Thank you for your consideration.

Much love. Enjoy...

Man! It blows my mind to realize how skilled you are! SO awesome!

I sure hope Prince one day agrees, so nice of you to consider the virtue of it all! smile

^^ And in the process you have made us happy. Thanks! Hope to see more in the future, different poses, outfits, album covers.

Btw, I remember reading a thread about whether Prince keeps anything fans give him or whether he chucks everything in a dumpster. Someone who had visited Paisley Park said that they passed by a room full of fan gifts, including artwork. So I think he would appreciate something like this (and the spirit from which it came). At least, I don't think he'd chuck it - it's too exquisite.

These dolls are amazing, If Prince was smart he'd get on the boat and allow these to be made.

However, I'd like to see a Prince doll from The Gold Experience Era maybe from his performance at the AMA where the did the Purple Medley and A Medley Of Gold Exp. Songs. smile razz

If "Le Petit Prince" makes you smile, check out Troy's website - there's more photos, plus his other artwork. There's: Le Petit Prince in the shower w/ cruxifix on the wall, complete with armpit hair! The "Mountains" outfit with hat, the "For You" album cover, and on his motorcycle next to the lake from PR.

Wow! Thanks 4 the shining endorsement, artist76!! I'm flattered!
Just 2 clarify, I haven't done the For You album (yet) - I think what u r referring to is 'Le Petit Prince Becoming Colorbandz™', which are another series of works altogether (and on the website as well under the 'series' category).

Thank u one and all!

Oh, and I just wanted 2 say 1 more thing - I'm expecting that the Le Petit Prince project will culminate in a very rad photo book. Accomplishing this, however, will not be cheap (tiny Prince duds don't grow on trees either), which is why I'm making the limited edition posters available. If you're interested in supporting this project and want 2 see the book come 2 fruition, u can help by purchasing a poster and owning a petit piece of Le Petit Prince.

Thanks, friends.

Oh man. Look. Your art is amazing and yes, I'll happily support it fiscally but its gotta be the right product. For me at my age that is subtlety. A calendar, coffee table book, but posters are not something I have sought or displayed since my early 20s. I have loads of prince posters rolled up in a wardrobe from those days but I can't hang those with my woman calling the interior design shots in my crib. Until I get flush and can afford a pad with a man cave, calendars and coffee table books are the limit of my freedom of expression.

I would suggest starting a new thread about Le Petit Prince, because some people may not click on this or go beyond the 1st page(s). I bet there are some people who don't even realize your stuff is on here. Or perhaps a thread in the merchandise forum.
