No comment on the track itself, I'll let everyone else rip it a new one/put on their rose-tinteds - but make the thing available internationally, and lossless please if there isn't going to be a CD release.

Putting it out regionally is just going to promote file sharing surely? I guess there wouldn't be that many sales, so it's not like it would impact much that way, but still

Just as when he released the new version of "In A Large Room With No Light", I don't understand why folks are getting so upset over this. You've still got the original on your hard drive, right?

I would prefer for Prince to do an era release of the official songs. Just clean them up but don't mess with the Time of the song

like do 1982(1999) album release. Get with some of or all of the people who were involved put the credits and lyrics, pull out some photos/never before seen photos and make a nice booklett

Dude so what, it's not like the new version negates the old one from existing, perfectly possible to enjoy both. The original will probably show up cleaner sooner or later anyway. Nobody saw some of those new Box O Chocolates leaks coming and look how good those sound.

i think the new version is ok...but its never going to be as good as the original...i dont think its a good idea for him to re record his unreleased classics....he underestimates what these recordings mean to his long time followers...we dont want them re recorded...we want the original recordings released and properly re mastered ...that is what the fans want...

It is a bit daft its only available in Canada, that just encourage people to not to buy it and just copying off others. Its a silly idea putting it on itunes in one country.

It is. Because I have the full song illegally now... lol.

Without the Linn rim shot pattern that appears on the original, this version has a slower feel to it. (The congas don't make up for the excited uptempo vibe of the rim shot). And when the song starts, I keep wanting to sing "Let It Whip." In fact, this would make a good mash up with the Dazz classic.
