I'm so glad I listened to this! smile

I listened to this station yesterday the WHOLE day! LITERALLY, I had a lot catching up to do, because I was in Sweden for the longest time...lol.

It was such a treat listening to you all! You guys are just fantastic! I love the fact that you all respect his music yet have your own opinions on a diverse album such as Emancipation! I am a NEW fan for sure!!!! smile You guys are really funny, and all of you, take it your own individual ways.

I am so hooked to you guys commentaries I'm going to the archive of the podcast's getting current! All of you are pretty awesome! smile You guys have really took it home! I recommended this podcast to all my Prince hippies and from what I got so far, they really enjoyed it! I am not trying to over flood you with appreciation, but I just want you all to know that I love what you all do. It's very funny, genuine, and to the point!

Question # 1 to Prince about Emancipation...

When you were promoting it with your MTV, VH1, BET ( I think BET picked it up, right?) Well whatever...

WHY did you Lip Sync and NOT play 100% live???????? WHY when you took over your career and the industry is watching, you lip synced and lip synced your guitar solo on a few songs?

WHY not blow the industry out of the water like you did at the Rock Hall.

stupid move.

I think I know the answer. All of those years when he was a slave to WB they forced him to give amazing live performances but once he was free he could do what he always wanted to do: lip sync.

I'm always late listening to the show, but I always get there.

Just got to 'Courtin' Time' - which one of you guys said 'second best song on the album' ? lol - So right! I always loved this track, it's just one of those moments on a Prince album that is not really expected, and a lot of people skip it, or hate it because it's not a funk track, or a sloppy ballad, or a rocker.

I remember way back when this came out, and probably still now - this song was HATED! lol

This is one of those moments in the Prince catalog that's aged really well, especially for the album/era it came from, and like The Vault, C&D, people are coming back to it now and finding a hidden gem. cool

OMG @ We Gets Up comments! I always loved this too! How can people not love 'We Gets Up'?! lol When I listen to this, I see/hear the Lovesexy band in 12" extended mode or something, I don't know why this is so hated!!

Really great podcast - your BEST! Thanks for taking it one disc per show. ...Now 'bout Crystal Ball....

BTW, if someone from the Peach and Black Podcast reads this - PLEASE FIX YOUR OLDER PODCAST LINKS. Rainbow Children pt.1 has been down for months, so is The Vault, and Rave reviews. Maybe others. I've tried your site and itunes - both are not working for these. Please fix. As someone who has never understood people's love for TRC I'd love to hear your views/review. Thanks.

Love the show!

thanks lucas smile

We know there are some issues with some older shows but everytime we look into it there doesn't seem to be anything wrong that we can see from our end...

Just let me know which ones exactly you need and I'll get them to you ...

Supercool!

I really love you guys and can't get enough of your show.

Personally I think it's enriching to hear a different opinion about the songs and to hear the music "with someone elses ears".

Plus: You can make me burst into laughter even on a cacky day.

I have listened to all your album reviews with pleasure, but I too have never been able to get Rainbow Children part 1. The link just don't work, and it may never have.

I look forward to you fixing the link as it is a quite remarkable album, and a controversial one.

Emancipation disc 2 is my favorite album ever, and I would just like to say that I agreed with almost everything the guys said on the Podcast. Also, I am constantly talking with musicians here in Brooklyn who bring up how much they LOOOVEEE the D'Angelo VOODOO album, and I was THRILLED to hear the guys say that "One Kiss At A Time" is pretty much the precursor for Voodoo. I LOVED THIS PODCAST! I too also HATE the synth horns in "The Plan" haha. highfive

How'm I gonna fill this empty room...
