I have to say, dissapointed with the orgers again tonight,,,theyre comments are weak and spewing the same old hate /criticism. Cant they think of anything new? I cant believe they even watched that GLO show? What were they thinking? Wish they would just listen to P classic albums and stay content with the past and stop trying to listen to new music or watch new performances. Better to just pop in Purple Rain or Sign O Times DVD. Why even come to this website? Man, u orgers dissapointed me once again,,,ya'lls careers are over.

Why should you care what other orgers think?

If you thought his performance was good and you enjoyed it, then why did you not post something about that?

No, much easier to come on here and type up a post moaning about people being negative.

Just based on this performance, without comparing it to the past, i was disappointed in the NPG's lazy and boring interpretations of the songs..... And I just hope he loses the disco, vegas chicks up front too....they're just embarrassing for every reason....worst tv performance from Prince ever, followed very closely by the Ellen performance.......

And I agree, everyone should be able to give their own opinions of Prince's songs/performances without anyone else getting medieval on bottoms....

His performances remind me of late James Brown TV performances, they have the same stacked bunch of backing singers doing all the singing.

very on point and funny. Some of these folks live to hate. If Prince is so bad and going down hill why do they feel the need to watch his every move and smell his every fart? They are more ridiculous then prince can or ever will be. They don't like the new music, don't like the performances compared to the past yet they hang on as if Prince is going to get younger and blow there idiot minds.

Are you just cutting and pasting your replies now because you say the same thing every time you post. You don't like the "haters", but you keep reading their posts and commenting expecting them to get more 'positive' and blow your "idiot" mind.

Fallon would've been a much better option for Prince.....and playing with the Roots would have been awesome......wishful thinking....the thing is that Fallon had Prince booked 4 times, but Prince pulled the plug at the last minute each time .... shame on u, shame on u....lol

The man is damn near 53 ppl. And the performance wasn't the best I've seen of his, but it was still great. I liked it, even though half of you didn't. Look at younger artist who always sound bad!!! I mean shut-up already artichoke.

Ahh the old Prince-is-doing-well-to-be-so-damn-old excuse is back. I remember the first time I read that one on alt.music.prince. I believe Prince was about 35 then. biggrin

That red suit was the SEXY and DTrain cover was fun, that was my jam back, in the day. WBLS use to run that song in the ground, I swear Prince has a house head vibe in his soul. Didn't care one bit if the audience was lost on that, it should have been appreciated for the live music it was presented as. Security would have had to grab me because I would have been straight club dancing up in that bitch!
Hey Serp where are you when I need a shot of that RED SUIT!!!!????

The Roots are not a real band. It can get unintentionally comical on Fallon when they try to show chops. How long can they play the hip-hop street cred game? If dem cats was white they'd be out of work.

i just saw the show, prince looked wonderful! perky, bushytailed.. heart

the beautiful ones was beautiful, the drama, i loved his vocals, the theatricals on top piano..he's so hot when he surrenders on his back

but i must say i think laydown & the cover were bad choices.. although the guitar was nice, the drum was fun.. those performances were a bit rough & shelbey just gets on my tits.

his last outfit was sexiest, lopez looked sharp in his shoes, i would really love to see prince bin the heels & start wearing trainers/cool footwear

The band was a loose stool on every song. Diarhea. Prince himself was not quite up to his standards, but he was good enough. It's the band that needs LOTS of rehearsal. Prince needs a musical director, so he doesn't have to put in so much time with these cats. I'm a say it again, get MJ's old band, pay 'em right, and drop everybody in the NPG.

I love 3121 and lotus flower and think they're amazing albums but since I have the audacity to critique a performance I must be a hater who is stuck in the past and should just watch Purple Rain.

1. I'm 21 so I aim't stuck in the past when it comes to Prince and up til 2009 I thought he was getting better and better live.

2. Purple Rain's an awful movie.

3. Stop orgnoting me.

Laydown sounds better live, when you're actually there in the audience. Totally sounds different, than what you hear from the tv set. I thought LayDown was a good opener, and energetic funk track, but to each their own of course.

Only problem is I think Liv was the one singing the "You need to.." part, and came in a tidbit late when singing that part, compared to what you hear on the cd. Overall love that song.

prince doesnt need mj's band, he needs a band like he had back in 01/02. That Prince and NPG would put up performances better than MJ could ever imagine smile

Thanks for those links, I was expecting some dreadful boring performance going by the earlier comments. I'm critical of Prince too, but there was NOTHING wrong with that performance. I can't believe he did D-TRAIN eek ...that was off the chain! And that was a light funny interview.

I thought/hoped it was an original. Overall a nice performance/show. I don't think it works to sing The Beautiful Ones, or any song, to someone onstage. It makes the lyrics too literal, and it cuts out the audience.

Prince can be so HYPOCRITICAL......... lol

In this interview, Prince is talking about people shouldn't cover his songs, writing their own instead.

And then he's covering the disco classic "You're The One For Me".....

How hypocritical is that........?????
