Beautiful Strange. Though I think Prince may have released the version I prefer to NPGMC (former members confirm). It is much better than the Rave release. The latter sonds over-produced.

gotta say I'm split on the versions of "Strange Relationship". I do love the Dream Factory version's sitar/drum intro... but the SOTT version is cleaner, tighter, amped.

I haven't heard the non-CB version of "Crucial"? I'll have to do some looking. What is it like?

The non-Crystal Ball version of "Crucial" is longer (about 6 and a half minutes), has extended solos by (depending on version) a guitar or a saxophone, doesn't have the obnoxious echo effect on the vocals, and sounds way more complete and less demo-like.

The saxophone in the song is amazing and it works very well with the song

Ok but that was one of the released versions i was referring to, just because it wasn't on cd doesn't mean it's unreleased, he still charged money for it.

The demo of Guitar was way better than the Planet Earth version.

All though I liked the album release, the demo is cooler and more personal, I think

There are many, but i'm going to go with "In A Large Room With No Light."

While i quite like the re-recorded version, releasing the original would have been a much better treat.

The version on The Work seems a little longer, with more pronounced background chorus ("the oh-ooh-oh" part) and slightly different keyboards.

I believe this was the version that was performed on Sesame Street?

Check them out and let me know what you think.

No. It was on Come.

Too many to mention.

In fact, I'd choose virtually any unreleased version over the released one except for a few cases. Come, Strange Relationship, Feel U Up come to mind now as songs where I prefer the released version.

I think that was the later (90's), revamped Starfish and Coffee used on the Muppet Show, when he appeared.

I know that Sesame Street was during the Emancipation era . . . but I still like that version better.

The song that really stands out for me though is Come. I prefer the dark techno version vs. the lounge jazz version that was released.

Not necessarily unreleased, but I prefer the We Are The World version of 4 The Tears In Your Eyes to the Hits/B-Sides version.

I LOVE the video version of 4 The Tears in Your Eyes, but for some reason can't sit through the album version.
