in my opinion a true marriage is when two people are one in spirit = joined together by god.

the act of marriage via legal contract doesnt necessarily mean the two people are one in spirit and therefore joined together by god.

the truer marriage is when two people are one in spirit, whether they are married via legal contract or not, imo.
