I'm diggin it! It is the same vocals as Willing & Able and I agree the beat at times is a bit too demo sounding. Like the effects he's added and the overall 20TEN production is great!

Love the alternating female vox that join him midday through. Lyrics are tongue in cheek for sure.

At 3:55 nice nod to David Bowie's Fame!

I rather like the auto-tuned vocals and layered choir like lyrics. This would have made a great out-take in the 80s!

Very cool that he finally released an extended track!!!! More guitar Prince!!!! come on!!

Hand claps are a nice 1999 touch at the end.

I agree. If he really wants to get fans to stop downloading his music, there you go. Keep releasing music like this. Problem solved.

I actually don't hate it. The beat is cool and I do like the vocals and synth, plus there's a few cool guitar licks in it as well. I don't mind it at all. Good job, Prince.

A few of my thoughts in red above, I like this song and like some of the cryptic poetry within the lyrics, something to explore a little rather than 'obvious' lyrics of late

It sounds a bit like one of those late-80s outtakes to me.

Didn't think much of it, but had to play it several times!

At first I thought not bad now I'm loving it. First prince song I have heard in years that I could actually hear on the radio and get radio airplay. Remix could also get played in clubs. There is nothing like having Rich Friends. Well maybe friends with benefits.

The song is OK, it's roughly in line with what he's been singing about since Rainbow Children. It's also quite radio friendly.

I didn't see it mentioned elsewhere, the lyric u can't buy happiness but u can pay for the search is actually spoken on the ONA live CD set Disc2

I miss the days when i thought everything he did was 'amazing' and a 'masterpiece'. Unfortuanetly I grew up and discovered fast amounts of other music that makes his current crop of releases pale in comparison.

Agreed.

I think if this had a quicker tempo, it would be a lot better. The lazy lyrics are uninspired and uninspiring. Same sentiment as Act of God, but that was a lot more heartfelt and better for it.

4/10, but may grow to a 5. Everything on 20Ten is better though.

how weird, this is happening way too often for me. I loved it when I first heard it, rated it a solid 8 out of 10 but......now it's an average 5!. IMHO it is funky lite but like so much stuff over the last 10 years completely non essential, I do actually like the lyrics and the vocal but the song?.

Oh well back to the new Kings of Leon single!!

The difference between Prince now and Prince then is that when I listen to new track now, at first it sounds great. "Oh the guitar, the singing, the melody... great". But when I've listened to five times that's two too many. In the old days it was the other way around. On the first listen I didn't quite get it. But the more I listened to it, the more it grew. Sometimes into a classic.
