Do Amoeba have a contact email address regarding enquiries?

Looked but, couldn't see one for that purpose.

I downloaded it from two different sources (once in mp3 and later in flac) and a friend in the UK sent me the disc.

Getting 20TEN was a piece of cake. shrug

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

All Prince has done has made it easier for fans outside of the UK to rationalize downloading 20TEN for free. If he really thinks internet is over, he should think about how much money he's lost by not making 20TEN available on his own website (Oh yeah, he doesn't have one any more, does he confused )

u have to realize though people don't care about Prince anymore. I have had a music shop for 18 years now and I first hand have watched the general publics care for Prince VANISH. I play him ALL the time though EVERY DAY a couple of times and believe me NOBODY CARES. I have been blasting 20ten even though I personally dont like it but I promote the hell out of it but noone even gives it a chance. Honestly listening to the cd i understand why it does not sell. Its a shame really. So far I have sold 2 and I had it since the 3rd day it came out. I sell alot and have greta foot traffic as well. I hope Prince can do something to have people care again.

^ People gotta understand that average consumers' tastes are fickle. If they're not down with that artist after at least two years, they'll move on to the next especially if they feel that artist does things that they don't get. So they turn away. I don't know why people are surprised by that. True, Prince didn't have a problem going gold/platinum after Purple Rain but in retrospect he always sold peanuts compared to his contemporaries who sold more copies of their albums than he did. When they release anything that don't sell as well as their last album, the media deems it "flops". I've hardly heard them say that about Prince. I've never seen an article on how that artist flop. Usually with someone like Prince, they almost never focus on his material, more on the mystery of him and his live performances but that's it. The talk of the internet vs. Prince has given him some talk and not all of it have been favorable to him in that regard.

As for "20Ten" being HARD TO GET, it wasn't. If people decided to buy it on the Mirror or get it for free or go on Ebay, it wasn't that hard then.

I can trade you a 20ten promo cd, came with the Belgian Nieuwsblad, for the USA release of the same album if it ever is released.

There is an aire of unatainableness that intrigues me, I admit, and now Iknow what the European fans were dealing with when the US had the Lotus rose album available, I'm just patient either which way the ball goes a bouncing, like four square square

I'm in the UK, and i did not have to deal with anything in obtaining Lotus. I think it was 3 days after it was released in the USA, it was available at a UK chain store music shop on import. And it was only £5-6 more than a regular new release cd.

Dailly Mirror sent the CD in snail mail in about 30-45 days just like they promissed. Which is better than many other websites in the past.

What confuses me is why Prince didn't just place it on Dr Funkenberry's website for download.

He's giving it away for free, it's being distributed for free by fans, and even non-Prince fans are sharing the album just to spite his ridiculous claim "The Internet is Over"

Shit, I've got a physical copy and I'm in Thailand! lol

Any way you slice and dice it, he could making more money selling online than giving it away.

Though, I think distributing it through newspapers is a very clever way of growing his audience though. People are bound to listen to it just because it's there.

Why is it confusing you? Prince didn't give it away, he got paid for it by the papers/magazines. I'm sure if Dr F paid him enough he'd let him put it up there.
RIP sad

I wonder how people bought a few copies only in order to sell them to the amis at a profit.

I went to a few newsagents trying to get me a copy and they were always sold out:-?

It's a good thing that the internet isn't dead, if indeed so I'd still be without.

Glad, I didn't have to the regular price though.

Yeah, I'm also blasting SLG and Lavaux but it's not an original copy because Prince cannot or does not want to release 20Ten in the US...

It was not released in the US yet so all are imports...

So why be in doubt over a few dollars? Yes, it is cheap.

Child Of The Sun and Exodus weren't released in the USA aither IIRC, and Goldnigga was only sold at the European concerts back in 1993, and weren't The sacrifice Of Victor & The Undertaker European/Japanese releases as well???

So it's not really a first.

I bought it at Record Time (which is pretty on the up and up with buying used stuff) and I'm pretty sure a not so reputable record store in the area (that sells bootlegs and I believe I've seen CDR copies of imports as well, which is total bullshit) might have offical or "unoffical" copies. It's not hard to get. You can get a pshyical copy from many places on the net. Only problem is it isn't cheap and it's inconvinenant. It's not like a record store exclusive. He gave away millions of copies in Europe and now they are just trickling into the US. I forgot how long it was before the UK and US release dates of "Planet Earth', but I'm pretty darn sure it didn't take this long before an announcement was even made. Really sucks for fans that don't have money (well, or that want to save money). I got my copy, though.

Now THAT"S rare. Also, this is the first offical "Prince" release that is this restricted (although maybe since copies are showing up here, it isn't all that restricted). "The Undertaker" was an offical release in some way?

On video only, in 95. The 94 CDs were all destroyed before even promos were sent (though a few escaped destruction and ended up on the black market).
