Hey it's all rumour at the moment, Schkopi don't know what's going on, MoQuake does not know, and the Org does not know...

It can't be criticism as nobody knows why? we are just looking around and having a guess? but at this late stage it must have somthing to do with the pattern, we know Prince likes to work in a pattern maybe...maybe it's the "Pre-20Ten Party" causing the problem.

At the moment or the other rumour that the French Paper has a wider reach thus getting in the way of the Belgium deal..??

I take your point on both of these, but the term "exclusivity" can mean anything maybe the lawyers are checking the T's & C's but it's a bit late at the 11th hour to say this?

The "Courrier International" may have said yes, but maybe Prince staff did not pass this news on to Prince this could be the problem?

well there are alot of things here to think about. If this (supposed) delay is real, then it can be happening for many reasons, one would be manufacturing, another could be some people getting prior to others, and also what NO ONE is thinking about is the fact that PRINCE plans on doing a one-off deal to get this record distributed in the USA, and to be honest if im a label, im not doing a proper deal if this record is going to be all over europe months before we get it, because u know that this album will be on the net minute one it gets into the paper. So thats a big deal to Prince getting a deal here in America, i mean Musicology still sold a million without giveaways, but that was 6 years ago and the industry is about 60% less in sales now, and the ease to get a new cd on the net now is about as easy as a $2 hooker.

And last but not least, if its delayed BFD, stop making it more than it is, the only reason a delay will be a story is because the internet will make that "NONEVENT" an "EVENT" this is a new Prince album in 2010, there is no relevance in that whatsover in the grand scheme of the world.

To clarify things a little more about Schkopi and Courrier International as i've been involved into the making of this launch party on the 7th - we had a deal with Courrier International to organize the event so we were 100% official, we were planning to make the mag + CD available starting at midnight during the party (thus we would respect the official date of july 8th for the release).

So it is NOT because of the party that the french release have been cancelled, but only because Courrier International is also available in Belgium, and the belgium newspaper has an exclusivity over it on july 10th
