Err .... he's doing it with Newspapers, Magazines and in more than one country, and it's a brand new album, it's a European release .... it's never been done before by any artist...

It's sad because an artist as great as Prince has to resort to this, in "regular" ways his music cannot be heard anymore due to the industry being fucked up. This newspaper deal will get his biggest attention in Europe since probably the 80s. It's just weird that music is THIS disposable now. But we need to remember Prince is lucky he can pull a stunt like this, it's not like other 80s acts who stopped having chart success can do this.

And yes, as I said before, it's completely anachronistic and hypocritical of Prince to require this (based on his comments about iTunes) considering it's one of the trappings of an industry he railed against for so long, and one in particular that bit him in the ass with that last huge contract he signed with WB.

Hopefully, this is either to ensure a uniform release date of the 10th (i.e to avoid downloading), or a manufacturing problem.

If the entire Europe deal is cancelled there is going to be some flak, because 'The Mirror' in the UK is heavily promoting it.

I'm confused. So the distribrution of 20Ten for the whole of Europe has been cancelled? or is it just for France??
