Every choice you make is karma! so make sure you pay your dues!

Maybe he's having problems funding his new "kept woman"

He's just wack, he could of so easily made lameflow3r a sucess by just sticking a bunch of dusted down stuff from the vault or placing a few video messages from himself etc but no, spat his dummy out and sings no more candy for you! Maybe that means no more pennies for the tax man too lol.

It will only last a little while he'll have a new bee up his arse soon, waiting for the enviromental one where prince sells all his cars in favour of a hybrid and push bike in order to say those trees from acid rain.

Prince, please remember the Scripture -

Desire, that scripture is talking about idols. There are graven images on coins. ..anyway,.... long story. I'm not gonna preach here. but .... there were some heavy politics and culture and religious aspects going on during the time frame of that particular scripture. Israel was occupied country by Rome. The money had Ceasars face ingraven on it ...which graven image was and is against the commandments.

anyway ..don't know what's going on with Prince and his property. Kinda hate that he got hit with extra fee's and penalities .... that's a shame. don't know who his accounting service is ...

I think Chanhassen tried to over charge him before. It's federal law that property tax should not jump more than 2% a year. And I think they tried charging him a lot more than that hike ... a long time ago, from what I heard ...in the news or some kind of thing.
However, it's his private business. Just hate to see him get hit with extra penalities and such.

He can easily pay this $220K+ now, so he doesn't need to "raise" any funds just for this paltry amount. Best believe that. It is telling, however, that he STILL doesn't have his financial shit together, though I never really expected anything different. Like SoulAlive said (I think), sounds almost like 1995 all over again. LOL!

I just wonder whose managing these things for him? Even though, that's not anyone's business...and certainly not mine. It's just that, all these details are too much for one person to look after. He's an artist. He's got things to do, things to create. People to see, places to go .. as they say. lol.

It looks like these things are management issues.

For those crying .. is he going to go to jail.. the answer is No. It's property tax people. They'll put a judgement against his property. then years later they may try to take it but ... generally a judgement against property pays when the property is sold... paid through escrow A.C. automatically.
I've worked in Escrow ... I've had to cut the checks for judgements and liens and send off letters of demand for payment ...deal with all those details.
It was my job.

People can calm down .... it something that needs to be tended to ..
but it's gonna be okay.

Lol,it seems that Prince has a long history of not always taking care of his finances. In 1988,there were stories of him having some financial difficulties. These same problems surfaced again in 1994/95,to the point where he had to deny it during a performance...

I have enough money to make it.Don't believe everything you read in the papers. If you wanna know something, ask me.

He also mentioned these rumors during his 1995 American Music Awards speech.

shrug maybe he needs a new accountant?

How can ANYONE think he's being picked on? I live in Carver County. $200,000 is a lot of money. If I have to pay taxes, so does he.

He's ripped off Fans, not payed his taxes.

Prince does not care about ANYONE but Prince. I'm done supporting this S.O.B.

Prince isn't being "picked on" he's being exploited because of his fame. Its simple--the media is trying to run a "sensational" story.

No one said he isn't paying his taxes, he's delinquent (late). I'm would bet that Prince has paid more than his share of taxes over the years.

He's not being exploited. HE DIDN'T PAY HIS TAXES. He's has a history of not paying his taxes when he's supposed to. He's filed bankruptcy TWICE in Minnesota, to avoid paying many Minnesota businesses and others over the years as well. Yeah, he's being exploited.

Stop being a Prince apologist.

Seriously, what a douche! I am so tired of the crap I hear about the 'once' little genius. When i was 15 I admit I thought I had found someone and something to give me direction. Prince has over the years proven himself but recently he seems to be a real disappointement to many fans, and it is going to be difficult to get new people on board to what he is doing when he continues to screw everyone over. Whether it's bad management of just poor judgement Prince needs to once again prove himself to me and to probably many of you. I am glad I ended finding my own way in life and happy I didn't drink his Koolaid!

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Perhaps - but, you know, this kind of thing goes on all the time. Businesses and individuals with large amounts of money play the system all the time so that their money is working for them. The level of interest earned on a large sum of money can be greater than the penalties imposed by being late - for all we know, Prince's accountants are actually being clever and letting his money earn more before the bill gets paid. And before anyone says that the interest on $200k may not be that much, it could be that the sum is part of a much larger sum owed and, therefore, holding that entire amount as long as possible will earn a large sum of interest.

Everyone who watches their money will use tax-breaks and loopholes to retain or earn as much as possible. The instant assumption that this story implies something negative (Prince refusing to pay tax bills/cannot afford to pay/just plain lazy) just shows where other people's minds are at, I guess shrug

Here is what I do not understand. While Prince is clearly a rediculously talented entertainer, time has shown that he is pretty much lacking in the running a business realm. Can't he find someone to take care of this stuff? Is it just a control/trust issue?

Shows that a lot of people on P org are ignorant about wealth mgmt. The super rich spend vast amounts of time and resources getting out of paying taxes. I remember a story a few years ago about P fighting the property tax accessments on his properties in the state. For all we know he could still be figthing the taxes. In addtion, I am sure he has an account/business manager who handles the bills.

Here is what I don't understand - that people take the line that Prince is a crap businessman. This isn't a "fammy" statement, so hear me out.

The man has earned a fortune over the years and there are still plenty of bucks rolling earn, from royalties alone. The other "business ventures" may not have been successful from a consumer point of view, but they may well have been brilliant for him. He may not extend a good customer experience, but he might have made a fortune out of virtually nothing.

Let's take Lotusflow3r as an example - I have no idea how many people joined but, if it was 100,000 then that's a cool 7.7million dollars for, let's be honest, not doing a lot. Set-up and running costs would be negligable compared to that revenue, likewise the manufacture and postage of (some) t-shirts. Even if the subscription were half that figure, that's still a tidy some of money for very little investment. Not admirable for the consumer granted, but there'll be many a businessman who would envy such a thing and could only dream of making such returns.

So, perhaps he's not such a crap businessman after all! Crappy business practices, maybe.....but not running a "successful business, maybe not lol
