Well when Prince and his ears send me the multitracks to the song like he did with Icon, then I'll show him what's up... til then, this track blows.

You might know this and that might affect your opinion of it.

How long something takes to write/paint/produce/etc or how simple or complicated the process doesn't have to have anything to do with its appeal to its audience on a personal level.

On a personal level, as you correctly stated, and feeling-wise, it's mostly true.

But when we're talking about the art of making music, the evolution of a chord, a lyric, all the thoughts and creativity behind it (which is also something we love Prince for, isn't it?), it can be taken into count how easy it is to do something.

The reason why I don't respect most of the chart bands/singers today isn't just the crap lyrics, production and overall message, but mainly the superficial and ridiculous songwriting behind all of that!

I don't know of remixing and anything of its process. All I know is it takes me back to a time that was fun for me and I dig it.

I don't need anything else out of this remix.

saafiir... The track is easy to produce, it definitely is true. But it doesn't mean it's bad or something.

People don't need to proove themselves when it comes to putting some pieces of tracks together with a bit a experience and typical arrangement, which is easy for someone who knows what it's about.

Alright y'all. Prince is probably one of the best and coolest musicians out there. Dig?

He has skills on loads of instruments, songwriting, singing and clothing.

Whatever he does, it will always be better then most of what the rest of the world had done.

BUT.

This remix is cool, but easy. End of story. It's not daring, nor groundbraking, but it's cool and it's fun to hear someone like Prince do this (or make someone do this).

In the end, we all seem to agree. Some folks just take some things more serious than others and some just take care of being over-loyal and other think it's embarraing, so they are over-critical. In the end we all love him and KNOW that he is cooler than most other out there.

This remix is banging, but just a tiny bit dated an very easy to mix. Alright?

I would personally have liked a heavy House remix, and frankly, this remix does nothing 4 me.

I could've done something that would put that 2 shame.

It's kind of generic.

I'm thinking the "tribal drum" remix will be more 2 my taste...

I haven't heard it, but I figured it would be something more "rave-ish." I prefer the house remixes of Prince's stuff too, like the remixes of The Dance or the shelter mix of Joy in Repetition or Gett Off Housestyle. I also like that house mix of Shh. I rememeber someone posted a clip awhile back of Prince dancing at a Marques Wyatt party. I wish he had commissioned someone in that style to hook up the remix for this song.

This remix is seriously lame. The only thing that remains from the original is Prince's vocal track. Effectively it could have been anyone's voice track over this generic bullshwit.

As for the incomprehensible mzsexybaby, Prince most certainly DID NOT invent house music - everytime he tries to venture in that direction himself or through a third party remix, the result is a steaming turd of prehistoric heritage.

Stick to what you know Prince, play an instrument and really wow us.

Proper crap.

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

Do y'all think some DJ's will play with it and bang it in some clubs?

bbrrraaaappp blud!
i'd love 2 hear this at a venue & of course would dance 2 it!
yes, i can see it being played in a club, maybe in LA, & they'll probably give it a spin in france & possibly fan gathering.. lol
but it's not hardcore enough 4 'serious' clubbers.. i feel as a remix it's very flat in places, with some work it might be decent
i was never keen on the song anyway, but like the passion/concept ofthe 'glory, hallellujah, thank the almightly 4 u baby..!'

i can't help feeling that prince considered it a bit of a throwaway song & decided 2 let one or 2 people have some fun with it?
