In truth, there are more and more hospitals doing bloodless surgeries, for this very reason. It's not a new idea. There are JW's all over, and hospitals have taken the steps to ensure respect for religious rights. It's just Prince trying to save face. I also think he's just untrusting of people, especially in a place like a hospital. Cell phones, etc are his enemy, and in a place like that? Pffft, forget it.

I'M GOING TO PREDICT SOMETHING HERE

Someone, I don't know who, but someone will get to Prince. Someone like Jamie Foxx, or Denzel....someone really RANDOM to all things Prince. A very unsuspecting individual. They'll talk to him. He'll brush it off at first, but they will talk to him and tell him about the safety and procedures of a bloodless surgery. Someone will convince him to get the surgery. He'll get it and we'll hear about it sometime just after the fact. We might never see a pic of him in the hospital or even on a gurney, but we might see a wheelchair pic somewhere along the way. (We've already seen him on a Hooveround.) He'll kind of stay in hiding for a while, might even release a song or something, but probably not. We'll see band members elsewhere doing stuff since they aren't doing work w/ Prince. Prince will eventually come out of hiding, with this new friend of his (not his hip), and make a few media appearances touting the positive aspects of the bloodless surgery. It'll probably upset the JW community, but most reports are that officially they have excommunicated him anyway, so who cares.

In short, at some point the pain and addiction will rule his life in a way he never thought possible. Something has to give, and since his hip is already giving way, it's time for HIM to bend a bit.

I'm just wondering where all the people who essentially said HQ was lying when they ran a similar story are now?

And when it's discovered that this is not just a rumor -- that he really does need hip surgery (which I believe is the truth), will they apologize?...

Don't hold your breath.

So receiving a blood transfusion (even of one's own blood) is considered the same as "eating" it? Blood entered through the veins is not blood entered through the digestive tract. *sigh*

Whatever the beliefs are, I hope the man is taking care of himself.

They call it "ingesting" blood, which can be in a transfusion or by eating. It's absorbed into the blood stream, in some fashion. And to them, that is wrong.

I'm not totally sure all JW's are vegans either, by that argument of not eating blood. Leviticus is a tricky book because God laid down so many laws, NOT because he wanted to limit people, but because the people acted stupid and complained about not even knowing how to wipe their butts. So God said "Fine....here are your rules, since you can't think for yourself, as I created you to do, but refuse to."

But Jesus fulfilled the law. He followed every law there was to the letter, thereby freeing the rest of us from it. No, we can't go murder someone without consequence, but that old law is OLD for a reason. JW's refuse to understand that, or even the deity of Jesus as the Son of God. Therein, lies the problem with it all. And that, my friends, is another show.

Ahhh I see. I know that other religious people like Muslims interpret the restriction against "ingesting blood" specifically as a dietary law. As such an animal that is slaughtered according to Islamic religious law is one who is slaughtered in such a way as to drain as much blood out as possible (usually a quick slit to the throat for as quick and relatively "painless" death as possible).

I know of quite a few very high profile folks who have had major medical procedures done with no publicity at all. With enough financial resources and the right medical institution it's quite possible to get treatment very quietly. That would mean no leaks in the person's personal camp of course, which seems to exist in Prince's if reports are to be believed.

Whatever the case may be, I do hope that he's taking care of himself.

To be honest, I truly thought he might have had this done after Coachella last year. Let's face it, he kept a very low profile there for awhile.

The source with him backstage is probably the bodyguards spilling all of Prince's info to everyone everwhere including Bria. Check past threads.

Could you narrow that down a bit? There's a lot of threads about.

Check the threads about Paris. And Reverend's brilliant take on the situation with his "pictoral" giggle

On a side note, I've already heard all of this from thirdhand (from the bodyguard) and other stuff I dare not repeat. Safe to say Prince should be near drowning from all those leaks! sad

Jehovah Witnesses have plenty of surgeries.
I don't get this thread. Prince is just
your typical man, you know how some of you all procrastinate. Do you
know how many men wait and wait until it's too late sometimes
just to check out what's wrong with them? Avoiding the doctor have
killed many. (Men & Women).. confused If this story is true (which I doubt it)
then let Prince handle his personal business, he has to make his own
decision, stop shifting the blame.

I really hate it if Prince is really suffering and in pain. I hate for anyone to hurt. I don't want wrinkles to appear on that pretty face of his.

I wish I could pick him up, licking kiss him and make all the pain go away.

Agreed. Hard to respect someone's intelligence when they believe that an invisible man in the sky has a list of rules for them to follow.

You may not respect him but I have high regards & respect for Dr Martin Luther King jr, just one may who's faith in the invisible man in the sky followed some rule and did something to make a very big lasting difference for people all over the world because what he took affect in other countries outside of America as well like Ghana, parts of Latin America South Africa
