Eddie M. Jill Jones, engineer Susan Rogers & Miko Weaver this is like 83/84 I have that pic of the 4 of them. Okay "part of the Prince camp" and "in the band" are different. that's my point. And yes he was on Mountains, but that was released in 1986, and recorded in late 85 at some point. So we're talking the difference of a couple of months. In 1985 The Revolution released a video while filming UTCM. Miko and the other 5 members weren't in the band YET, officially - not in public. We're on the same page. Oh, you're on the same page NOW. You weren't BEFORE OldFriends posted that pic. You were swearing up and down that Miko wasn't connected to P untill 86. Wrong. All joy was saying was that Miko would play in P's band ,The Revolution, during the PR tour wich was 84/85. Which is true. Anybody that actually went to the shows would have seen that. What u were swearing up and down about Miko, that wasn't even what joy was talking about. But there u go again, trying to go against what somebody was saying. That's what I was just saying in the other post. You come across like you're this major ass authoritive on everything when you're obviously not. MANY people on here know the facts, i.e. dates, etc. about stuff. You're too quick on the draw when you really don't even have the bullets in your pistol. I've always felt, like someone above said, that it's actually Prince wearing Dr. Fink's getup. It looks like 'im, and sounds like the kind of joke he'd pull.
Either way, I'm so glad that this artwork was chosen for the final album cover. The original was too literal, and butt-ugly, to boot!  |

I remember reading somewhere back in 85 that the old man crying was supposed to be Prince's father. I too always thought that was Lisa with the violin and Wendy I thought was the Clara Bow figure. So if its not them then where are they? And the reason I said Miko with the ice cream is what I read too along with the old man being Prince's pops. So where is W&L? And is it safe to say that the two purple robed figures are Brooks and Wally guarding Prince in the white robe? __________________________________________________

P is TOO clever, he doesn't do the OBVIOUS with anything. ESPECIALLY back then. P always wanted to keep people guessing. That was his thing. He KNEW people would be searching for where he was in the painting. As a kid, my first thought was that the Old man was supposed to be P's dad. But as time went by, I thought that it could "represent" P himself for the reasons I stated much earlier. The white robed figure, in the face, DOES resemble Prince in a way. I noticed that when I was a kid too. The band members who I have always been the most ceratin of in my mind was Fink, Bobby, Brown Mark. Lisa and Wendy. Although with Lisa and Wendy, the figures are nothing like either one. And the face of Fink looks like an "AGED" version of Fink. The only two members in the band where u can really see their faces and the faces actually looks like them are Bobby and Mark. And KINDA Matt. And the face in the white robe does resemble P. But the figure with the ice cream, that pose I feel is too evoke that of Michael on the cover of Thriller. THAT'S an ICONIC album cover and EVERYBODY knows MJ's pose on that cover. I have ALWAYS thought that's who it was to represent. Doesn't mean it's true of course cuz fuck if I know BUT that's what I feel. To me, that FITS Prince like a glove to throw Michael up in the painting. ESPECIALLY dressed in a females outfit. The face kinda resembles Michael as well as does it resembles Miko. Madhouse always reminded me of the 3 robed people from the ATWIAD album
the orchestra from the Raspberry Beret video were dressed in the robes Bobby Z the man in black Wendy the woman sticking her finger in a hole(that was something we did back then to signify sex) Wendy the woman playing the violin Dr Fink of course Brown Mark clothing isn't seen on the cover Prince in the sky suit This album was so colorful and mysterious, one of the things I love about this album in particular. So much going on lyrically musically and the history behind a lot of stuff | |
