could this be his best album this decade?

I'll need another listen to decide but it very well could be though I think The Rainbow Children gets higher highs (and much lower lows).

i don't think lotus has that many lows.

Crimson & clover seems to fit in better after The Morning After. Is that an official tracklist at the start of this thread?

I was listening to Mplsound while downloading, i had to cancel the download, i cant have that on my computer.
I dont like being labeled a hater, because i like prince, and i want to like all his new music, but that is as uninspired as anything he has ever done.

Lotusflow3r to me is much much better but i now think its wrong and too much to to think Prince will ever have any new ideas.

77 bucks, dam with stock brokers and bankers starving and covered in flies on the slumdog streets of Wall St. i feel a little ashamed to be indulging in this.

shoulda gone the Target route.

and lets not scare people with this TRC talk, no people it isnt that bad. its actually pretty good.
[Edited 3/24/09 21:43pm]

TRC is a good album, I just think the vocal interludes are unnecessary and ruin it. I enjoy listening to it live so I don't have to hear all that. I can't even skip that mess on the CD so I don't listen to the CD.
Lotus Flow3r is damn good. If I could only figure out how to download it.
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

It's as good if not better than 'Musicology.'

'3121' is more vulnerable and I really enjoy '3121.' (Except the title track.)

Too soon to say it's better than either of those.

This seems to have the most consistent quality out of the 3 albums. The production seems to be a good level..

i'm not a big fan of Musicology it doesn't seem to flow for me

love 3121 but i think this is better my favorite tracks are

2. Boom
3. Crimson & Clover
6. Colonized Mind
7. Feel Good Feel Better Feel Wonderful
10. Wall of Berlin
11. $
12. Dreamer

with Dreamer being the best of the cd and tied with Dance 4 Me as best in set.

not ready to say its his best album this decade although IMO it wouldn't be that difficult to top that... but I cannot remember the last time I listened to a Prince album and smiled like this

I like both discs... a lot on 1st listen

Put the 2 albums together and you have Prince's best stuff in basically 15 years. Not since The Gold Experience have I been this excited about Prince's music as a whole.

And first listens are normally a tough thing for me.

Now, off to decode the backwards stuff on Boom...

I just tried to decode too! The music is so loud and the vocals so in the back that I could barely make out one word.

Oh definitely. I can't believe it. Chocolate Box is the only bad song on both CDs imo.

This album is a proper return to form. I've only heard it once, but it sounds organic and solid. Boom, Feel Better, Colonized Mind, $, Dreamer are my standouts. First listen mind and with Prince, things and favorites can change on second listen.

still kind of pissed that "crimson and clover" is not on this version
becaus that obviously fits much better as the 3rd track after "boom",
they both have the same guitar sound and some of the vocal phrasing..

can't wait until i get "crimson and clover" and insert it inbetween
"boom" and "the morning after".

Love Like Jazz grew on me on my second listen. It actually gets REALLY intense with some Do Me Baby style moans at the end kind of.

so you're all listening to this and somehow fail to notice
that the BOOM file is incomplete and cuts short at 03:09,
when it is supposed to clock in at 04:54? listen to it on
the stream and look at the track length on the site, then
listen to your mp3/wav and look at the track length.
