I will say this is already much better than Planet Earth, IMHO. Just on first impressions. Much cooler and interesting vibe, IMHO.

But beyond that, will need time to absorb cool

"Dreamer" is a heavy song. The lyrics and music don't fit logically for me, but musically they do if that makes sense.

Paging Jimi...
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

Yes it is.. i'm impressed w/ how raw the sound is. He hasn't done anything like this on an album in ages.

I had no issue getting mplsound into my itunes.
This one and bria's I can't seem to get into itunes under Artist or Album. Just as scattered songs.
Anyone have any clue what that might be about?
Do I just try re-downloading tomorrow?

The website's a bit of a brainfuck at 4am, though. I'd still be here figuring out the password if if wasn't for the org. Currently zooming into Prince's mascarad moustache to play Creep.

delirious

Dreamer steals its intro guitar almost directly from a Hendrix tune but after that it absolutely rocks...a hard rocker that doesn't dissapoint...

The Morning After: a pleasant little tune - has kind of a Manic Monday feel to it?

Boom: this is another hard driving tune with a very interesting melody line to begin the tune - this almost sounds like something you would here on an early Lisa and Wendy album - this sounds straight from the 1960s...

Feel Better, Feel Good, Feel Wonderful: kind if feels a little like "Get on the Boat" - good song to get you moving...

Love like Jazz: has a Steely Dan/Chicago feel to it - not one of my favorites but not a bad song

$ - a weird tune - done in the Camille voice - kind of catchy almost a country guitar feel with a dance beat...

Lots of people will love the instrumentals - I found them ok, smooth and listenable but nothing greater than that...

with The Morning After or 4ever swapped out for C&C, yes, quite possibly. i don't like both of these tracks being on here, especially back to back.

there are no bad songs on this album, in my opinion. this, plus mplsound equals classic prince.

from lotus, my favorites are $ and the last track.
as I mentioned in the other thread, he sounds hungry again. can't get over how good this is ...

very much a rainbow children vibe, but even more focused. FUCK! dude keeps proving his worth.

I love 'The Morning After.' Classic Prince.
Should be a single. (But it's 'Alphabet Street' short.)

'Boom' is adequate.

'The Lotus' calls to mind 'The Rainbow Children' album.

'4Ever' Prince mining a very familiar milieu (Think 'Diamond and Pearls', 'The Most Beautiful Girl In the World' 'I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man'.)

'Colonized Mind' is the album version of 'The War.' Don't get me wrong, I like it. It jams. Prince still makes it a sermon but so what?

'Feel Better, Feel Good, Feel Wonderful' has the energy and creativity of the Musicology album. This isn't looking back at all. A standout album track.

'Love like Jazz' The obligatory R & B hit that Prince seems to spring at will. ('Baby Mama Drama', 'Musicology', 'Money Don't Matter Tonight', 'I Hate U', 'Damn U', "Hot Thing', and on . . .)

'77 Beverly Park' is beautiful and fortunately instrumental but what's up with the ending?

'Wall of Berlin' did I just fall into the 'Chaos and Disorder' album? I'm not complainin', I'm just sayin.'

'$' I swear, what I thought of first is Amy Winehouse. He should have given her this, it's certainly not too late for her to cover it.

'Dreamer' If only this were the first single! Straight out rocker and doesn't try to be anything else. DO THAT THEN PRINCE! More rock than anything else this side of 'Chaos and Disorder.' It makes 'Guitar' look like a recorder.
'Back 2 the Lotus' the Rainbow Children' closer, narrated intro included.

Overall, SO MUCH BETTER than 'Planet Earth.' I am so happy about that!
Now if he could only market it like the hit album it is.
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

I'll need another listen to decide but it very well could be though I think The Rainbow Children gets higher highs (and much lower lows).

Feel Good, Feel Better, Feel Wonderful is more funky than that thing from a few years ago. Horns and a more punch bass line.

'Get on the Boat'? or 'Love' maybe?
