Prince is obviously looking for a new audience with this "song". I see it as a sign of the times the song missies depth or soul if you like.

It sounds like the outcome of a teenager's first attempt to do something on his first synthesizer neutral

Although I have HIGH hopes for the Lotus Flow3r album after hearing Colonized Mind, the first impressions of the website are mildly spoken disappointing.

Sure a matter of taste etc. But it looks SO unimaginative and it so childish having to click on several items to get some info.

And yes, I do realize I am getting older smile

Anyone denying that Prince got A LOT of inspiration from the "music scores" from 70s and 80s porn should rent some classics just for this purpose, lol.

Im going to have to agree with you, plus there are much cooler interactive sites then a boombox opening up with a tape player. sad The rock stuff sounds great. The disco stuff not so much. Its almost like he's trying to hard to recapture an era. Dont do that Prince, do you! pat

I like the piano part the most.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really donĀ“t like the idea that he could have it all."

this songtitle keeps reminding me of a jellyfish tank.

and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Yes. Prince had a goofy electro sound in the past.

He knows that everyone that is hot now has been guided to "bring the 80s' back".

Kanye, this Linda Perry..

They are palying around with this "80's expression/new wave" stuff already..

Christina, Britney, etc... It's already here..

He knows that this is not his best track, or he would not have made it available so soon.

It matches its silly title, so I did not expect this hard-core, scary jam before I heard it.

It's no use in going crazy over it. Like it or not.

It's a good funky song. Then there are those perfect transitions at 0:32-0:33 and 1:56-1:57. I know, brief moments, but they're really cool.

I enjoy this joint so much more than Chocolate Box. For some reason Chocolate Box (perhaps the lyrics) just annoyed me. Disco Jellyfish on the other hand gets me grooving.

What annoyed me the most was the auto-tune. It worked on 3121, but that should be the only album containing auto-tune. The lyrics some as a close third; as a second I'll have to put that it sounds a bit lame, because there are no live-drums or anything like that. These three things annoy me about Chocolate box, and I haven't even heard it entirely (but I assume it will have the same flavour as Another Like Me, so..).

Nothing against electric music (if it's good), but these tracks just have to funk the shit out of everyone, but with an arrangement like that they don't (yet).

discojellyfish reminds me of the record by outkast "hey ya" it has the same beat same groove now if ny chance the video for jellyfish could be in the same concept of "hey ya" in which prince playing all the instrments and q=tip laying in the rap this would be a killer video and possible jumpstart for whatever cd its on.....(for the dj's,mixers in here try this weekend to get a copy of hey ya listen to it mix in it with jellyfish see what u come up with...might turn out ure next gig.....lol)

Please. Hey Ya is one of the best pop songs of the past ten years. Comparing this throwaway rancid slice of redundant Pro Tools slop to Hey Ya is just about as mad as the thread that compares Prince to Mozart.

What's more, Prince is on record having stated that there is no way Outkast could have known Hey Ya would be a hit, which boggles the mind as it's a damn near a perfect slice of pop. The fact that Prince thought it was sort of dumb luck that Outkast picked it as a single and had a hit with it further shows how completely out of touch he is with what makes a good single and how to construct a good pop song.

I could not agree more !

Also what amazes me is that Prince said he was trying to sound like 'old Prince' with this record (album), but it's like he has no idea what was really cool about his 80's records. He's worked out that people loved the Linn drum .... but what about the other sounds??

That's it! Chocolate Box is R&B lyrics that don't fit the music. DiscoJellyfish on the other hand has this futuristic jazz fusion going on. It's like the Human Body on Emancipation. It was a teaser of his capabilities to create a a true dance track if he wanted to.

I listened a 100 times to some songs by Prince. Classics! This is a funny 1 time listening song. Thats all. Its weak even I like the guitar work. Prince used to be raw and rebelious. He lost that completly. Thats the problem with this song. Its kinda nothing.Thank you Larry!

Cool enuff to have it in a computer game..lol.

... I can sleep well without that track on my mp3player! zzz

Nope, it's not going to be on MPLSound, he recorded it just for the website.
