eek Exactly what I was thinking. Hello-- Andre Cymone was doing this stuff 20 years ago but didn't get too far. Don't know if I like the techno-funk stuff yet.

I hope however I am wrong.

from the tidsbits trickling in here and there i gather that only lotusflower
will be made available at first with the other two albums following later in
the year.

it's all a bit of an anti-climax for sure. neutral

I suppose that will be the most interesting one of the 3, though.

Folks this is without a doubt a "Chocolate Box" instrumental, which personally I prefer to the juvenile lyrics of the original.

Even though it sounds like Ghostbusters at certain points, I am really diggin it. Our boy is experimenting again, I am cool with that!

yeahthat

I would say (sorry for my english!)... encircled by the thankless, mediocrity & pollution !!!

By trailing round on all the forums dedicated to Prince I see the reign of resentful & haters in all kind... exercising their only talent, which is to criticize what they will never have: "The genius".

Thankless... while we are all contemporaries of one of the last Legend in the world of music... while we can again take advantage of what his work has to bring us.

I thought that the music of Prince was simply made to entertain and raise up the spirit of people...

It is often a reality (Fortunately)... except on fanatics' sites where it is much rarer (regrettably)... & where numerous frustrated people come to pour the stream of their mediocrity.

Stay away bloody parasites !

You can continue to pour your poison

But I Wish there's no forum on the new site

?

Because people cat get over Prince. Its the only reason. They dont have another artist to listen to and probably their whole entity embarks on what he does and if it isnt the Grand Progression then it aint EVER gonna be good to them.
For some reason Prince does something new to the table and they expect to hear something made era 1980 to 1988.
When will they just realise that prince isnt ever...EVER going to do anything that we WANT him to do? God MJ fans are still talking about Invincible..get over it already.

Im proud that I even still have my favorite artist that still embarks me on a journey every year and throws the best concerts known to man. But there are some people on here that wont be satisfied until he's dead.

That's the ultimate false statement on the org. Very rarely, if ever, do you read a critique of Prince's music which tails off into "Gee, I just wish he sounded like he did in the 80's." And the irony is, it's the fambots that drool at the first hint of a Linn and start proclaiming, just like Prince has since Rave, about a "return to the classic sound." Look at how many people got excited when John Blackwell mentioned 'new' music that sounded like Controversy. Part II. Yawn. The truth of the matter is, people who are critical of Prince's output are asking for music which looks forward, not backward. It would be nice if the sanctimonious blather in his lyrics was scaled back too, but given how he's become the Colonized Mind to lead all Colonized Minds, that's likely asking for too much.

But I'll grant that Discojellyfish does sound like something from the future. Albeit a synthetic, lifeless future, that's devoid of even a vague, hazy sense of purpose. Though I'm sure the powers at be at Nintendo might be interested in the piece for a future game.
No hard feelings.

shrug It's aiight. It really does sound like video game music to me though. And yes, he had to be listening to the B-52's too since it does bear resemblance to their latest album, "Funplex".

Right, two points.

Point one. That kid got Barbie for Christmas and not Action Man.

Point Two. I play and collect video games. Have done for many, many years. The comments on Jellyfish sounding like in-game music are somewhat out of touch. They are in fact comparable to the general public response that, when asked about Prince, sing Purple Rain and then ask/proclaim that he is gay. The greatest examples composed have been performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra... you get my point. As for the technology? Well the Wii features Dolby Pro Logic II (the weakest of the bunch), the 360 has Dolby Digital whilst the PS3 has, amongst others, Dolby TrueHD which is a lossless technology that is used for Blu-ray and the like. It beats my Mac that's for sure.

No point three but if there was then I'd have to say that DiscoJellyfish may be a skipper (see the pun?) on the cd.
