Here's something you can be in disbelief of. A artist who demands attention at every piece of work like it's a visionary event for the masses. And if you don't pay attention to it, then that's because you don't like real musicians. Now that's a hot mess. This is the website that demanded everyone to pay attention to? This is it? Wow 3 pieces of Flash and a black backdrop. No one has anything ground breaking and pioneering like that. Oh wait, like everyone since early 2000. Okay, just checking. Well, some people just desperate for headlines. What can you do?

the beat to Chocolate Box/Disco Jelly Fish is damn funky

club banger... either version... the sole purpose of either joint is to get your booty shaking

mission accomplished

people that aren't feeling it are people who aren't into that kind of music... I actually believe that DiscoJellyFish is the weaker version without the lyrics!!!

I have evolved on that because originally I thought that the lyrics were a bit immature for a 50 year old singer.... but the shit works

Previously, there was a song sample on lotusflow3r.com called "chocolate box" that has the same music as "discojellyfish". So I'm wondering which of these two songs does the music belong two? Or, did Prince change his mind & decide to pull
back "chocolate box" & replace it with "discojellyfish"? The third song on the
site, "another boy" is...let's just say I'm not feeling it nor HER, & the only
reason I will buy the her album is bcs Prince produced it & to hear his background vocals. By the way, does anyone know which retail outlet store the cds will be release through, Best Buy, Target, Barnes & Nobles, Walmart...?

I LOVE IT SO MUCH and his NEW LOOK. He's such a GORGEOUS MAN. The song is so COOL. I Love it for RADIO and CLUBS. I wanted to listen to it again, but I was only allowed one listen right now. It reminds me of something he could have put out around 1985. Like I always say..He NEVER CEASES to AMAZE me at what he CREATES and this one song that plays when ya go to LOTUS FLOW it's GOTHY. And SPACEY. I Really Dig his DIRECTION and well that's why I'll ALWAYS LOVE HIM and that I get EXCITED hearing NEW STUFF and AWAITING a NEW CD to DROP. I TRULY BELIEVE like I ONCE said PRINCE is that ETERNAL VAMPIRE MAN who NEVER GET'S OLD or STUCK with WHAT WAS....It's all about THE NEW!!! He's just the MOST...BRILLIANT FOXALOT.....I wonder what he's got up his SLEEVE....What a WONDERFUL SURPRISE.....

These posts are uncalled for? That's a passive aggressive way for trying to squelch silencing dissent. Almost like a scolding. Not really coming out and saying it, but somehow it's insulting to have a view on the piece that is displayed in front of us. Let me say something on this I said in another post. It's because of the dissenting critics Prince is where he is today. You read that back and let that rattle around a minute in your mind. It made his work stronger than ever before. I am more of a listener than you are because I still stand by and don't raise the new power pom pom's at a moments notice. And if you ever have been critical on Prince record, you are a hypocrite straight up and down, period. There is no debate in that. I can still see rational perspective on dissenting opinion. God Forbid someone say something strong on this thread and hurt someones feelings. Good god this isnt the romper room.

Wow, isnt it funny how any one with a strong vocal opinion on a Prince record is seen as uncalled for. It's almost like this grand fear of that inkling of truth that maybe What someone like Wall is saying has merit. Actually, Id say Wall is more of a Prince listener than alot of orger's because he's actually listening and processing what he's hearing and giving his take. That's what a listener does instead of a sheep. Sad but True to the letter.

You probably don't even realize it's critics which sharpen art and sculpt it into Legacy like Prince. In someways you can even call them distant co-producers. That's what having a critical eye has done for art.

That's not negativity in my post. That's my honest take on the track discojellyfish. I was constructive. It's not my job to be inspiring. This is a discussion board it's a free for all on the topics. It's also what helps generate alot of traffic. Because I assure you if this board was all filled with "Luv 4 One Another " Positivity Yes" It wouldn't get the traffic it does.

I have no qualms or issue with you or anyone. I hit play and that's what I thought while I listened to it. Right or wrong it doesn't matter because I assure you alot of fans who have been scolded too many times are nodding their head in agreement as well. Thats it thats all (C) Phil Collins

Finally after killing the Minneapolis Sound with Lovsexy in 1988, Prince decides to bring it back.

Now don't get me wrong, I miss the studio wizard that created all of those unique sounds and interesting effects, BUT why not add some new ones. I mean, I can name the songs from 25 years ago with the same drum sounds and keyboard programming.

Wow, what an earth shattering website. Three songs, two and half of which have already been heard. Such innovation!

Disco Jellyfish sounds like it would have made a nice b-side to a b-side. And that's if that b-side squared was on the soundtrack to Super Mario Brothers' Greatest Misses. A mundane, synthetic beat in search of 80's nostalgia with some capable guitar lines and sound effects to fill in the gaps. It's not offensive but that's about the best thing you can say about it. However, if this is simply Chocolate Box with those atrocious teenage lyrics removed, I commend him for having at least a modicum of sense left. A nice piece of fluffy filler to get the fams moving in their computer seats.

I've already discussed Colonized Mind. A well enough constructed adult contemporary rock song with commendable guitar work. It's still not much better than an album cut or b-side but I'll agree with those who say it's the best of what's been previewed lately. Unfortunately that isn't say much, is it? And of course the irony of someone who's been reprogrammed and become a blathering pious curmudgeon singing about 'colonized minds' remains one of the great ironies of Prince's hypocritical career.

I didn't even bother to listen to the Sade-lite song. I imagine it's... pleasant.
No hard feelings.

People who think this song is refreshing jam probably have not experienced any single straight to video/basic cable cinemax "Cinemax after Dark" film. But im about to save you some time. Because this is exactly what it is.

This is the type of music you would hear while a girl strips for a curious Gold's Gym Lifetime member co-worker and he ogles her body with a gawk dork stare while she dances out of rhythm to DiscoJellyFish. And then she says something like "Have you ever tried the Disco Jelly Fish" And then she does the foreplay dance and the male coworker acts amazed.

Anyone who likes this and thinks it showcases Prince's genius, you are being played for a sucker. You can get music/tracks/instrumentals like this on any basic cable skin flick and a ton of sound libraries. In fact I could trick you all into putting up a track and saying "new crazy instrumental prince track" And alot of people would say it was the most daring track Prince had ever crafted since SOTT. It will turn out not to be Prince, but to be "Anal Invaders 4: Rectum Rangers on the Prairie" by Steve Johnson of Sensual Seductive Sound Productions from 1992. You see, it's the placebo effect. You love Prince, so you will instantly love the track. Change the name and put someone else and you won't be so crazy about it. You might even insult it, say it sounds like a generic prince track. I know because I have seen this shit happen.

P.S. I dont know how he could sound like like Prince covering Soundclick/mp3.com trying to sound like Prince all at once. The only thing creative about this track is he uses Real guitar tracks. Which come to think of it, that could be considered creative in 2009. Anyone who thinks I dont have a point, after wandering through any video studio early nineties sound library, and then hearing disco jellyfish, you're only fooling yourself.

Sorry I ginsu'd you fans praising this track. But every once n awhile it's good to breathe some oxygen that isn't tainted with purple.

This PSA has been brought to you by GINSU: When it needs to be filleted, demand the best.

Thank god somebody's kept the perspective real in the face of the dribbling, hypnotized, dumbed-down, cool-aid drinking 'tards that seemed to have taken over this site lately.

My god, after weeks of hype the man invites the press and throws a party to launch the 'state of the art' new website and the world gets what? A log, darkness, some mist, a tv playing irrelevant nonsense, an already released track and 2 samples of musak?! shrug Umm, yay...

Don't get me wrong, one of the albums may turn out to be great (one has to sooner or later this century, right?), but the 2 new sampled tracks (sadly the highlights of the 'page') are dross. Seriously, randomly pick a myspace page, any one of the millions, and listen to the average piece of music that person created at home and decided to put online... The only difference is that person isn't called Prince...

wink So yea, mark the date. What an epic, defining moment in the unfolding history of the internet innovations and advances. Surely a 2nd webby is just around the corner... I bet the IT guys worked long and hard on that colossal masterpiece....

Now watch that stange segment of .org lemmings squeal for joy at the latest innovative work of art from the genius... rolleyes
