Sort of, but if its also a bit of "Pussy Control" and "Erotic City" plus a little B-52s. The structure is also similar to Batdance.

I totally thought B-52s. Like Disco Jellyfish is his answer to Rock Lobster (which he's played a lot the last couple years).

Ah, nice. Disco Jellyfish is Prince's answer to Rock Lobster by the B-52s. I like it. Prince take's that downbeat (you know, where they sing "Down, down down ... and the guitar and bass pluckrub the strings) part of Rock Lobster and wails on his pro-tools amplified guitar. I dig it.

Exactly, (didn't know he played Rock Lobster, man has good taste) and obviously its innately better in form than B-52s. Prince is a really good natural talent. The form is tight and fun. The four note hook "synth lyric" is dark but funny. As I said, its catchy.

This reminds me of when he came out with "Kiss" and freaked everybody out.

He's been playing an Anotherloverholenyohead/Rock Lobster mash-up since...hmmm...2006-ish? He played it at the Super Bowl press conference in 2007, for sure - and it was a staple during the Vegas and London residencies.

BTW: No ones really mentioned the "when doves cry" beat. Nice. Notice he intentionally left out a base guitar ala WDC as well. That is the constant which might be mixing people up with "Chocolate Box." P must have PR on his mind, perhaps in the back but moving forward.

My wife's bluetooth name is SexyLittleDiscoBunny. I half expect to see that as a track by someone at some point in the future. Hopefully not some awful euro-trash house though. Probably some teen indie band that'll play V on the Channel 4 stage. In the rain.

This beat and bass of this track are VERY VERY similar to 'Undisputed (The Moneyopolis Mix) from Rave IN2 The Joy album.

I thought it WAS that song with a new intro.....
“Tuna, you better do something or else we gonna have to put you back in the can!”

Listening now...music

Wow, this joint kicks some major bootay! It's like "Chocolate Box 2.0": same melody, but souped up a bit. I agree with those who love the guitar on this; it's very unique and very FUNKY.

He should re-record "Chocolate Box" with this music and an autotune-free vocal track...that would ROCK! headbang Prince, if by some miracle you read this, please consider these slight changes. pray

I agree. This is good as an opener or a break for Prince in concert. Still, he's contemplating an "old" road which is full of possibilities he explored but didn't exploit. Its nice to see him at least nodding toward this road even though most likely he will continue along the closed-minded JW path.

JWs have no business in the arts when it comes down to it. Its all secular in their opinion. The sooner P gets booted from that religion the better.

i think this is something in the same vein as "get off/lubricated lady" and
"s.t.t/brand new orleans".

it's probably an external instrumental portion flowing out of a track on the
mpls album, most likely "chocolate box" since it contains many elements and
a similar melody to that song.

incidentally, should be in your tempfolder titled "prince - lotusflow3r"
