and if he didn't do the hits ever again would u still go and c him live? or do u harbor the past so much that even the idea of more new music (like he said he was going 2 do on leno in 2004) scares u over hearing the tired and true?

Freddy loves to nag about Prince doing his hits. I love it when he does his hits. He always does them differently everytime.

there's only so many times he can do raspberry beret rolleyes what's next he's going do it in a ska version?
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

NO TO WALMART!!!! NO TO WALMART!!!!

I happen to like Walmart but the thing is, we don't have a Walmart in New York City. The unions here stop that from happening as they don't use unions in Walmart. There's more to the story but I don't remember it. I don't want to go all the way to Jersey or Long Island to pick up a new Prince CD. I'll do it but it would suck major ass. Watch Prince do it anyway. lol

No to WalMart indeed and trust me, I know the story and will not set foot in there.

I want BestBuy but I won't be surprised if it turns out to be that other place.

Back to music...I hope a release date and some gigs will be announced soon. cool

A big NO to Walmart. I would have to actually consider not buying it. YES to Best Buy.

I know. When I lived in North Florida, there were two, a regular Walmart, and a SuperWalmart that stayed open 24/7.

I lived in a fairly small city before, and even they had two easy-to-find Wal-Marts; one regular and one Super. Now I'm in the biggest city in western Canada and the stores are nowhere to be found. lol

Go figure, you would think in the larger, populated areas is where they would put one.

For some reason, I don't think it's Walmart. I think it will be something like Best Buy or Target. I say that because both of them are based in Minnesota. Besides, Walmart is not stylish enough to carry P's music. They wouldn't carry TGE, Come or any album with a sticker.

I'm excited about buying through the website. It seems that there were a lot of problems last time, but hopefully these have been ironed out. I would like to see a huge Prince site where music, DVDs, books - all things Prince could be purchased. I really don't understand why that doesn't exist already (well, I do...but I'm hoping that this time things will be different).

Yeah def agree on that, even though Prince has "gone away" from projects, like "Roadhouse Garden" and re-recording his old albums to gain ownership, he is the type of artist that has so many things going on in his head that only some get out, Prince could never go a year without doing something, anything. I do like the idea of him getting back to "indie" again and just putting out alot of stuff, id rather this than doing a one-off deal and thats it for a new record,

Odd numbers R always the best.

Now before everyone jumps on me 4 not mentioning great albums released in even number years...

I'm talking about 2009 4 this music, but I am also referring 2 Prince as an odd number. He is, I am, and most everyone here is.

In some strange way, we all really love each other... sometimes in a dysfunctional manner.

cool

Just glad I was "right" (left).

I have no idea what you're babbling about.

I've heard the adult contemporary rock stylings and I'll pass. I heard the teenage lyrics of Forever and I'll pass. I heard that embarrassing mpls song and I'll pass, then come back around and start that one on fire. I heard the Lite FM of his aged protege' and I'll pass until I'm forced to hear it in an elevator where it belongs.

Is it possible there's going to be a track to three that end up worth being keepers? Maybe. But I'm hardly stupefied that Prince is about to release new music. After all, he's been previewing it. Not a real head scratcher that it might see the light of day.

What would make me scratch my head would be music that's worth playing beyond an initial spin. If you think the puddle deep lyrics and by the numbers alt-adult rock stylings of Colonized Mind and the atrocious Wall of Berlin are keepers, more power to you.
No hard feelings.

Ugh. Some Prince fans are so insipid that I feel embarrassed to love the guy's music so much.

His post contained constructive criticism of Prince's new music. Nowhere did he write anything the least bit hateful about Prince himself.

Anyone remember EvilWhiteMale? Now that guy wrote some hateful stuff. Likewise, Bart has said some ridiculous things. I've seen nothing but intelligent posts from Wall thus far. Just because his thoughts on Prince's new music don't adhere to the mass consensus of the fams doesn't mean he's a "hater."

I think some Prince fams need to make peace with the fact that the vast majority of people, aside from those working at Rolling Stone, don't think highly of Prince's new work. Why else do you think he has to perform a setlist of strictly 80's material to sell out those arenas? No one wants to hear him perform classics like Turn Me Loose and Musicology.
The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
