I love how he pulls the "some of my best friends" line. And the fact he lives in the United States and has to settle for all their laws and taxes but thinks it's prudent not to vote. What a brainwashed moron.

I also love how he has to defend his 'new Sade' album from any religous elders with some apologetic about 'it could be she's singing to her husband.' As if this woman has the same voice, style or understanding as Sade. I'm far from the biggest Sade fan but just because Prince found a smooth groove plug-in for Pro Tools it doesn't mean he's got the next Sade. Give me a break.

After enduring many sporadic and silly, cryptic blurbs on gossip blogs about exclusive parties and "man about town" sightings I'm glad we're getting back to basics. Hopefully there will be news forthcoming about concert dates rather than lawsuits and love interests...we shall see. He's right about the fact that those Tamar shows were outstanding showcases for him to work his mojo.

Lotus flower sounds very interesting, (love the Dick Gregory reference). If I can judge by what I've heard so far I look forward to hearing it. Not sure about MPLSsound so I'll reserve judgement.

As a huge Sade fan I'll admit I'm biased, but to mention her name in the same breath as Bria is nothing short of complete and utter blasphemy IMO.

Given that he doesn't vote I don't attach much significance to his comments on specific candidates or ballot initiatives. I still find his general thoughts on various weighty matters to be noteworthy, i.e., "two sides fighting only benefit the third person who instigated the fight."

That said, I wish Prince and his associates success going forward and for us supporters it will be nice to have more of what causes us to gather here in the first place...love of Prince's music.

The only thing that makes me think this interview is not completely accurate, is the fact that Prince was so eager to defend himslef on the Proposition 8 issue. That doesnt sound like the Prince I know. No offense to homosexuals(i have gay friends as well) but when the news hit the net that Prince was against it, it made me think..FINALLY, Prince is stirring up some MAJOR controversy again! Yea a few gays said theyd never buy his albums again, but does the Prince we know care? NO.. Hes broken all the rules and has never cared what anyone thought about his beliefs or music. Prince has rarely(if ever) defended himself on controversal issues. Now, secondly, if hes such a devout Jehovas Witness like he claims, then he WOULD be against Proposition 8. So keeping these 2 things in mind, makes me doubt the credibility of this interview. And please..refrain from the angry comments. Im not gay bashing. Im making points about Prince.

Cool. He's plans on releasing 3 albums. Could I get some clarification though on the Bria album? So is one of these three albums supposed to be her own album or is she just doing vocals on a couple of songs on one of the three Prince albums? If it's the former I'll probably pass because I don't really like her voice. But if she's just on a couple of songs on a Prince album ... I guess I could just skip the Bria songs.

Regarding the Sade comment. I got what he meant even though some are annoyed. The point is that Sade hasn't released a new album since 2000, when Lovers Rock came out. On that he's right. I don't count the 2002 live album because while it may have had a new tune or two on it, it wasn't an album with all new material.

As for the voting. Who cares. He didn't commit a crime by not voting. It's a personal choice. He has a right to vote or not to vote. Period.

My predictions for these 3 new albums.

Bria Valentes album: probably smooth-soul aking to Sade's sound, but what i heard from Bria so far, its safe so say she is NO Sade on a vocal level.. lol

Lotus Flower: a continuation on the sound of Planet Earth, but probably with a more band-like sound, and hopefully without misplaced contemporary R&B songs that cut the flow.

MPLSOUND: the most mysterious 'one'. It could be the return of the Controversy-sound (as John Blackwell did say), but it could also turn into plastic electronic funk on auto-pilot as we heard on The Chocolate Invasion and The Slaughterhouse albums.
