Now that song was a step in the right direction.

he could b playing in a small club 4 all i care as long as he sticks 2 playing the new material ..fuck arenas and the casual fan that only knows let's go crazy etc..let the man move on with his music and if that includes a show with just one or two major hits, fine by me. it's high time his live shows feature his current music instead of the safe hits.

As Meatloaf once said in a song....."You took the words right out of my mouth."

Or when people that have no idea who Prince is have better seats than I do. That's one of my pet peeves.

well that can b dependent on how much the seats go 4..especially in these times if the price is $312.01 for top of the line seats..then i'll gladly take the $7.77 seats up in the boonies big grin cause as long as video screens and i can hear the music it's all good lol
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Thanks Sarkozy. I must read that article. There's so much unreleased stuff. Prince and the Band is another I wouldn't mind on there.

I hear you. I've totally given up on getting choice seats at one of his concerts.

Reading this thread makes me think of the Carol King song, "Anticipation", when she sings:

Anticipation, Anticipation
Is making me late
Is keeping me waiting

giggle Drop those CDs, Prince, we're waitin on ya. wink

I'll take one great album over three mediocre ones, thank you very much. I hope this is quality not quantity.

Why must people hate on Walmart because they are non-union? As with most institutions that were first started to help american workers and the underpriveledged (ie. social security, labor unions, wellfare) people exploit benefits (workers doing the bare minimum if they belong to the union, women living with boyfriends and having babies just to collect checks to live more comfortably while damaging kids' views of family and responsiblity). Walmart pays a fair wage and provides benefits. They aren't paying $20 an hour, but most of the jobs provided are for unskilled workers. What is important is they provide employment to Americans and right now that is a good thing. Sure they are non-union but they aren't using whips and chains to keep their workers in line. Unions were built at a time when humans were the machines and did hard labor that risked their health and at the time it was a protective measure for the american worker. I don't think anyone is going to be hurt re-folding a sweater in the kids section of Walmart. Humans will corrupt when given the chance. Not all, but the ones that do ruin it for all. That is what happened to labor unions and that is what is happening to the banks, car companies, and home owners burned by speculators.

What's more Walmart doesn't need a bail-out to keep it afloat. It is a great business plan behind a company that pays a good wage, and has a strong customer base. Can car companies say the same--the labor unions were part of the reason they are all bankrupt now.

Peace and love, peace- and- LOVE.

First off, I was against the bail out...Secondly..Do your research. See how many times WalMart has been fined for breaking labor laws, sued for copyright infringment, and fined and sued for numerous other reasons. They dont pay fair wages and their benefits suck. If prince goes with Walmart...Ill just wait till I can buy it from someone else. WalMart started off as a good honest business but now its the last place Id shop.
Did you know they actually have employees whos job is to go out to successful surrounding small businesses (mom and pop shops)and see what they can do to put them out of business?
DONT DEAL WITH WALMART PRINCE.... PLEASE!!!!

you can always purchase from walmart.com and they can ship the CD to ur house and nobody would have to know you gave a penny to walmart wink

btw, seeing how banks are doing even since my last post and the severe job losses in general and the direction of the stock market--how can you call Walmart a bad company? Look at the way their stock is performing and the numbers they are putting up even in these tough times. They are keeping Americans working, period. And their business isn't falling apart. Just my opinion.

Prince, release ur music wherever you want to --I WILL BUY IT.
I wish u heaven

WalMart gets sued a lot because they have a lot of money. I follow Apple and it seems every week some frivolous lawsuit is filed against them. The question isn't how many times were they sued, it's did they lose the suit and what was it over. Any company as big as WalMart is going to find itself in trouble from time to time just by the sheer nature of it's size. They can't control what every employee does 100% of the time.

A lot of the criticism walmart gets is because they offer lower prices through high volume that local mom and pop business can't compete with. How many people who criticize Walmart for this turn around and shop online to find the best prices when they buy electronics? Are teh amazons or best buys really any different in terms of impacting "mom and pop" outfits?

And what kind of business would walmart be if they didn't research their competition. Any business is going to do what they can to take business away from their competitors.

If he's only going to cut a deal with 1 store, Walmart will give him the most exposure, especially if he can get an extended period on display by the checkout registers and/or other in store promotion.
