I just finished saying this at HQ and I think it needs to be said here as well. It's really nice to be talking about new Prince music, fake or not, and not about some stupid Prince antic or what silly thing Prince may or may not have said in an interview for a change. It's refreshing and it's stuff like this that keeps me here at the org, the music. Even if this isn't a new Prince song, just the idea that new music may be on the way gets me excited. I hope 2009 is a great year for all of us fans.  I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that | |

What a load of crap. He was making stuff like this in the NPGMC era and it sounded dated then. And now it sounds even worse.
Prince - please, please, please use a live drummer or a different drum machine. Listen to the fresh beats on 'The Renaissance'. That's the standard. | |

In repeating what I said previously...
I do like the groove, and certain parts really do sound like Prince... it sounds like an unfinished Prince track. With some Bass, Guitar, and a great vocal (with backgrounds)... then some polishing on the keys... this would JAM. It would also need some "killer" changes, even if only 1 or 2... the way only Prince would. Just listened again, and the only other thing I can say, is that I like everything, except some of the percussion sounds, and the dry synth lead-line, which actually could be a substitute 4 the vocal melody... kind of guide track 4 the vocals... Still not at all convinced this is Prince. Sounds way too much like someone
trying to sound like Prince than Prince himself. It's like an exercise in how many Prince sounds and references to old Prince tracks can you fit in one song. So until I get some confirmation from someone in Prince's camp, I'm not buying it. | |

After a few more listens and on headphones I'm starting to quite like it, I prefer it to Turn Me Loose.

i'm going 2 say this without the ability of hearing it, giovanni may have a point and others saying it's not finished yet. this could b in the vein of how musicology was offered on the npgmc in different ways via the guitar lick, the drums etc ..so who knows until and then until it's fully finished.
the possibility of a new website tho is very much needed. fuck a record deal, release straight 2 the fanbase  man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |

'Another Boy'- that's what it reminds me of for some reason. And I did like that song, track (it also sounded light and breezy and made me think light-hearted and happy music). | |
