Just because you hear an etching of that familiar drum machine sound doesn't, and never will make it comparable to anything from SOTT, and 1999, and if you actually think it would, you apparently never understood what made his music great in the past.

If you want my definition of prince shitting on funk, grab any of his latest music.

Why wouldn't it be Prince? Dr. Funkenberry obviously wants us to think it is, and that's a site that has a connection to Prince's camp. I don't think he would bite the hand that feeds him by putting up something fake and insinuating it's Prince, so either it's Prince or he's playing a Prince-approved trick. Either way, it's a free song Prince wanted us to have.

It's obvious that all of these sounds were recorded on a (cheap) keyboard. The bass, the drums, all the effects, ...

It may be an idea for a song by Prince and this is what he recorded on his mini-keyboard, sitting on the toilet, just to remember the chords and the melody, but it's nowhere near something that is going to be released.

With live bass and drums and some funky and dirty guitar riffs during the chorus I think this could be a good song. This is just an example of how much of a difference production and sounds can make!
