certainly plenty of Prince's songs suck. OR at least he needs to be edited severly. I can't play a single album of his all the ways thru. I either have to skip trax in whole or terminate them early. Especially a masterpiece like 1999. "DMSR" is great party material but it needs editing. "All the Critics" and "Lady Cab Driver" drag on for way too long.

Most of the songs on BATMAN are horrible dreck and I think I only like every other song on ATWIAD.

On SOTT "Hot Thing" and "Adore" drag on way too long and I skip "Forever in my Life". There are a lot of crappy songs on D&P and SYMBOL; must be really bad cuz i forget the titles!

I don't think Prince can possibly write a bad song, I think there are songs that we get and some that we don't. I may not be a big fan of,let's say "Temptation", but it is better than the greatest song that is being offered to us today. And even though I may not particularly like "Temptation" I understand the creativity and the art that was put into it and that's what I appreciate about it. Having that incredible mastery of the art it's impossible to write anything bad when you're writing in the light of creativity. That's what's missing in music today. They are all bad songs because there isn't the ability to feel, see, and think what the song is about, it's not that deep! With Prince you can feel, see, think and want everything that he does. Sure he has his quarky, non-sense songs to keep it fun and yet there is still "ART" in it all. Sometimes if the lyrics don't get you, you have to admit the music does and knowing that he labored it all by himself. I have to admit I get overwhelmed about it. I know it's a little long-winded, but being an artist myself I always look to Prince for aura of inspiration and motivation to call my gifts into being.
