They mean nothing; they have NO credibility whatsoever.

Prince should have at least 15 Grammys by this point, but one thing we need to keep in mind is how very endurable he is. The Grammys may be awarded on a yearly basis, but no one can detract from the fact that P has had one of the most amazing careers in modern musical history.

I personally don't think Prince should have won for FBM.


That really wasn't that great of a song. I'm gonna remain on my soapbox that Robin Thicke should have been nominated and won in that category.

I deffinately believe Prince deserved an award signifying the excellence of his work.

However, I've long felt that those shows (Grammy, Oscars, Emmys, etc.) are primarily promotional tools the industry uses to boost its profits.

Who cares about these stupid award shows anyways? Prince doesn't need a Grammy to realize what a great musician, songwriter, and performer he is.
These shows are not necessarily about talent, but how well an artist promotes his music. A lot of people don't know anything about Prince's music,because Prince has never been very media-friendly. In this day and age it's more about the media and marketing, than it is about music. If the media stops paying attention to an artist, the public usually stops paying attention as well.
Many talented artists go unrecognized because they're not properly promoted.
Prince must have his reasons why he is so media-shy and not out there promoting like other artists would.
Prince always does it h i s way, and doesn't seem to care too much about the consequences.
With or without awards, Prince has left his mark in the music-industry and is still going strong after 30 years. He is a legend and not too many artists have reached legend status while they were still alive.

He likes awards come on... why does he have a trophy case??? The trophy case was on display right when you come into PP and they were part of the tour. He might not make the album for the purpose of getting a Grammy but the brotha likes getting them. Why does he attend the shows????

Its scandalous that h only has 7, but then I guess it comes down to how you measure success, personally I think he should have way more and I think that Prince is greatly under-rated both as a songwriter and musician.
