I turned 25 two days ago. My sister is 5 years older than me and has always liked him so I have quite literally grown up on his music. Loved him since I was old enough to know what music was! Been to see him in concert 3 times. Working on getting all of his back catalogue which grew considerably 2 days ago. Pressies included 3 new DVDs and 4 CDs. My 7 year old nephew keeps singing Guitar!
I know I hold you too tight, but I just can't seem to get close enough

Unfortunately no. I haven't been lucky to see Prince in live concert yet. One of these days I do hope to see him because from what I've seen on tv that man puts on a great show! biggrin

I thought we had been through this before. Anyway, I'm 43. First time I saw Prince was in 1982 on the Controversy tour. Second time I saw Prince was the night after that at First Ave (this was March 1982) I was still underage at the time so had to BS my way in. I was pretty good at that though and actually had gone to First Ave to see Defunkt (who played, as scheduled before Prince's surprise performance) without even knowing that Prince (and Morris Day etc.) were gonna show up. I lucked out. So, yep, glad I'm the age I am cause I have been able to see literally hundreds (with all the Paisley Park shows) of Prince performances over the years.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I was 59 on Tuesday, probably the oldest fart around here and fittingly I'm having a hard time remembering when I first got into his music. What was his 3rd album after For You and Prince?

Dirty Mind, yeah.

First time I saw him live was the Lovesexy Tour at the Oakland Collesium. Awesome!

I am 43 and first saw P in 1980 at leopolds records in oakland and later that night at a promo gig at the circle starr theater in san carlos, where he didn't even have a band, he was surrounded by key boards and since the stage was in the middle of the place he walked down the aisle under chicks coat. I was sitting on the aisle and was like whoa that's a big man and then P came out from under his coat. I know only one other person who was at that show and I don't remember who the main act was because I was in love I was 15 years old. my friends mom was a fan thank god and she didn't even tell us he was supposed to be there.

after that I saw him every year when he played the bay area come hell or high water. The shows I saw this year at 3121 were #29 and 30.

I guess that makes me fam 4 life lol
