I'm 43. got my first Album as a 21st Birthday present from my then brother in law, it was 1999 - the album that is and I've bought everything of his since then, obviously bought the stuff going back to 78 and then had to re-buy everything when the vinyl got worn out, so I've replaced all the vinyl with CD (Still got the vinyl of course) but been lovin his every move since the early 80's.

First concert was 88 Wembley Arena - Wore the T-Shirt to the O2 gig in the summer, still looks like new, cos I never wore it, such a treasured item worship

im 36, i remember hearing Controversy (with extreme excitement) when I was 12. I loved 1999, PR and had bum fluff when I was 14 (when ATWIAD came out) so i could look like Prince.. I did a little..

Im pleasantly surprised how many "younger" fans he has out there!

At the o2! Unknown to a lot of folk he frequently walked through the Kings Row Bar. I went several nights with my wife to be. First night, I missed him I was out on the balcony a bit worse for wear. She came in with drinks and told me he was in the bar. I missed him. Then the next night, he walked past. I couldn't believe it, and then he messed around with the bar man for a few minutes and on his way out he stopped and we spoke to him. We really just said thanks for a great show, he was unbelievably friendly and cool. A few weeks later he walked out onto the balcony at 3121 and put his hand on my partners chair. When he wore that red suit! That was us. Think he recognised us as not being nutters!

Believe it or not we had even more experiences. The summer will be long remembered.

Well since mostly everyone expanded on the topic to include when they became Prince fans I may as well too. I already said I'm 26 but as far as I when I became a Prince fan it would have had to be around the late 80s'. Lets consider I was like three when Purple Rain came out so it took a few more years for me to grow up enough to pay attention to Prince. I admit my appreciation and knowledge of Prince has increased more in recent years. But I'm real big on his old stuff. Matter of fact "Little Red Corvette" is now playing as I type. lol
