My comment was in reference to someone accusing the Pirate bay of being promoters of child porn. They are not. So the direct comparison to Prince is the fact at 1) we are on a prince site, 2) Prince has been self suggested a link with an underage girl in his previous work. I was being sarcastic when I said Prince would be in good company then. Nothing more, nothing less.

However, in reference to the Symbol album, Kirsty Alley clearly states that the "Princess of Cairo is only 15 years old".

The morning papers video is lifted out of the Three chains of gold video where Prince is clearly in love with this Princess. Played by a very young girl he ends up marrying in real life!

"Why is age more than a number, when it comes to love?" How much clearer do you want it?

Silly me, I took that in refrence to the real media and how they will inflate a story to make it a story. As if Kirsty (Venessa B) was suggesting that was going to be the headline if say he didn't give her the real story. See MY point?

Yeah, I always read it that she was looking for a scoop, but she was willing to use the fact that that Mayte was 15 as the headline unless she got Prince to speak up.

It was never denied she was 15. In fact, when its brought up, Prince gives an uncomfortable cough, so it was clearly true. I thought it was quite sick that Prince chose to make her 15 in his love story. What was he, 35 at the time? He even gets the band to act out (if its acting) stories of how she rocks his world.

Regardless, I was using it as common reference with the attacker of Pirate bay, not an accusation of child abuse! I'd hope you would know me better than that!

I don't want this thread to get hyjacked into some "Prince is a peodo" campaign! biggrin

Anyways Mayte was 17 when she first met prince, And she was 18 by the time Love Symbol came out

needs a class in rational thinking

No, they met when she was 15 in Germany and they remained in contact, with Prince treating her to trips and gifts until she was 18.

Regardless, we are in danger of going off thread. This isn't about 15 year old Mayte (although it would make an interesting thread in its own right), its about Pirate Bay.

Pirate bay are NOT pedlers of child porn.

need a source on the 15 year old thing, breh

Have I really read the bit in bold correctly?

Will guess what, I did write the e-mail to the Web Sheriff myself as that was the whole bloody point.....

As for making up the reply.....why would I want to do that!!!.

I would really have liked to have uploaded the reply from the Web Sheriff as it included his badge on the e-mail and very nice it looks!

If you still don't believe me, why not e-mail him yourself with a similar request and see if you get a reply. You could even quote the web sheriff a bit of scripture just for good measure.

Such mistrust does not really became somebody who is able to quote the bible so freely.....

Forget about Mayte... I submit: Anna Fantastic (aka Anna Garcia). She was definitely underage...there's some article about how when she turned 18 Prince flew her to MPLS and all this stuff....she is the one he made a 'pink cashmere' coat for.... wink

Not saying Prince is a pedophile or into kiddie porn--I don't think he is; but I do think he likes 'em young. Of course he was younger then, too....but I always find it odd when guys/girls date more than 2 decades out of their age range.

Exodus Ch.20v15 Thou shall not steal...Practical application-Guard against taking what is not yours. Old Testm (Lev.19:11,13 Deut.5:19) New Testm(Matt.19:18;Rom.13:9;Eph.4:28

Matthew Chp.21:33-41 The components of the parable are obvious:
The landowner is God; the vineyard is Israel; the vindressers are the religious leaders; The vinedressers have attempted to unsurp the authority of the owner and make the property their own--the essence of rebellion against God.

Thank u for the question. IMO the scriptures has certainly clarified this whole situation for me.

And what clarification do you gather from these scriptures?:

"Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. You can will them to your children as inherited property and you can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly ( Lev. 25:44-46, NIV)."

"All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God's name and our teaching may not be slandered (1 Tim. 6:1, NIV)." "Slaves, obey your earthy masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord (Col. 3:22, NIV)." "Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them,....(Titus 2:9, NIV)."

Or how 'bout these?:

"Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys" (1 Sam. 15:3)... "As I listened, god said to the others, 'Follow him through the city and kill, without showing pity or compassion. Slaughter old men, young men and maidens, women and children...." (Ezek. 9:5-6)... "But of the cities of these people, which the Lord thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breathes. But thou shalt utterly destroy them...as the Lord thy God has commanded thee" (Deut. 20:16-17)...

Apparently Prince's "god" has a problem with moral consistency, no?... I mean, heaven forbid (pun VERY much intended) you should covet your neighbors wife or gathers sticks on the sabbath, but it's perfectly OK to engage in the institution of chattel slavery, genocide, and the slaughter of children and infants...

Care to make anymore innane excuses for Prince based on the accounts of his psychopathically dysfunctional "god"?

I know that and didn't say it was! I can pay 14.95 a month and download whatever I like that's on the "new sanctioned" Napster site including music by Prince. Since you jumped in my conversation answer the original question, how much of that 14.95 goes to the actual artists of the music that I can download?

Who gives a shit? The current Napster is a huge flop, and deservedly so:

http://www.washingtonpost...Feb12.html

For $15 a month, Napster To Go offers unlimited song downloads -- in a copy-restricted format that can be played only on Windows XP computers and some digital music players -- but these songs expire if you don't keep paying that fee each month.

[...]

Napster To Go's $15 monthly bills, however, will keep coming due for as long as you care to listen to your downloads. And over time, those fees add up, too.

Consider this example: I have been purchasing CDs for about 20 years now, in which time I've accumulated about 300 of the things. At an average of $15 each, I've spent $4,500. Now suppose that, instead of buying those CDs, I could have opened up a Napster To Go account back in 1985. My total bill would be $3,600 and counting -- and although I might have accumulated a larger, more diverse collection, I wouldn't own any of it.

Last time I checked Prince wasn't suing them, he was suing FAN SITES.

Well it looks like the threats against The Pirate Bay have stopped as there is nothing posted on their legal page

And if they had, they would post them in a heartbeat, claims of copyright or not

It will be interesting to see how many of these threats morph into legal action

I strongly suspect few, if any

It's a little different with Pirate Bay because they own all of their own gear (servers and things). Technically, they could pack up and leave in a night, and relocate in a new location. This makes them a little more difficult than the others.

Everyone knows exactly where their servers and offices are

Their downtime is now three hours maximum on a raid

They also have legal servers in other european countries

Waste of time raiding them as the Swedish government found out

There is nothing on their systems that contravenes copyright or trademark

If you guys are talking about The prince Album she was portrayed as 16 Years Old.

The Segue Conversation...

Hello.
Vanessa?
I'm not recording this time.
So how are you?
How are u?
Fine.
Fine.
Excuse me, but ah, what's up with your voice?
It's a special phone, a tone box
A tongue box. Oh, l-like in the movie Barbarella.
Yeah. Gives me courage, u know
Like a veil I can hide behind
It talks at, around, through her
Ok, so why are you giving me an interview
Because I want u...
Pardon me?
To tell the truth
Oh - well, I will if you will.
For example, the first song of your opera
Ah, the opera
Why don't you tell me your real name.
My name is Victor
That is not the truth and you know it.
How old are you?
I'm into my 5th soul now so that makes me three hundred...
Why do you pretend to be a maze?
... and twenty. I'm amazed at your beauty.
I saw you on television.
320 hmm, don't sweat it honey, I'm too young for you.
Although rumor has it that the crown princess of Cairo
is now a member of the NPG.
Are you there?
Ahem...
Do you know that the princess is 16 years old?
How 'bout this for a story. "320 year old robs the cradle"
What a scandal.
Scandal...
You know, if you don't give me the real story,
I'll have to make one up of my own.
So why don't you tell me the truth - the truth - the truth
Why don't you tell me the truth?

Oh, I know. Technically they aren't doing anything wrong. It's the nature of the torrents. Why I mention owning their own gear and doing their own hosting, is that it prevents you from going after a hosting company to shut them down. Also, in the case that their actions are ruled a violations in one location, they can easily relocate. This is why most of the torrent sites operate on the periphery.

The violations are not technical, they are moral. There's not a whole lot you can do about that. I understand that file sharing has become a way of life but in the long run it will do lots of damage. Do I think it will stop? No. It's hard to change this way of thinking. People will always seek them out.

What will be the outcome? Probably that "damage" will become a way of life...as many industries will suffer. If we live in an age of mediocrity now, imagine what it will be like 10/20 years down the line.

This file sharing (getting away with it) will thrive for a while, but in time, laws will have to drastically change. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that no good can come of this for an extended time. If the big boys, with the big money banned together, they could make impact that is felt. Ultimately, this will have to happen.

There is a way to shut down even The Pirate Bay, the problem is that most lawyers don't think outside the box

Sure, but Pirate Bay will be difficult. Even if they were ordered to turn a series of servers off...some guy, would probably reach over, switch them off and switch a few others on...then get back to his video game.
