Very cool cool

And I was a fan of Heroes long b4 Prince or b4 I knew they scored the music.

It's almost scary... in almost everything I've seen that I get really into, it goes back to Prince.

I like that little snippet about them getting hand gestures and signals and they'd know exactly what that was... pretty cool stuff there thumbs up! Thanx!

Why do you always do this? If you don't like what I write, why bother posting simply to stick it 2 me?

i dont think they make any money from the album/artist world and i would suspect they dont see themselves making any money from that route in the near future. none of their albums have been very profitable despite at least two of them being really pretty great.

i don't buy that for a minute...there was an article about how artist who score film and tv actually make more money then today's pop stars. the girls now have their own studio for recording their scoring work (paid for by their work on crossing jordan)...they recorded girlbros. at their home...they could do it if they wanted to. in fact, they went into the studio and record songs back in 05. with outlets like cdbaby releasing indi work (like they just did for lisa's brother david coleman) and aimee mann and michael penn (a friend of wendy and lisa's) label they could release an cd affordably... at this point its just a matter of them wanting to...and for whatever reason (artistic or workload) they have chosen not to...which i respect, but i can't but be sad about it.

i never denied that artists who score film/tv get more money than minor pop stars. in fact, that was my main point. i was speculating that for w&l to make another studio album, release it, and then tour it as promotion, would be more bother than it's worth. im sure they could release cds independently through the net...it's just a matter of feeling whether or not it's worth it

worth it? when you own your own studio and can release an indie cd and at heart you are an artist (and not a tv/film composure)...why not? they agreed to do the residency at Largo for a reason, because they love music...it just seems odd that they don't pursue that further...especially now that the have the means.

and they don't need to tour by the way if they dont want to...heck, they could do a residency at largo again...they sold out each night...and the david coleman cd that was released earlier this year is proof they understand about releasing work for the passion...

i just can't figure out why they wont release their own work for their passion...

but then lisa did just have a baby...so maybe they have other priorities...eh, whatever...tonight i will listen to the new meshell and stop pondering it all.

good points...i just cant believe their artistic spirit would only give them one album in eighteen years.

and no, they don't have to tour, but if they take the time to record, package and release an album and nobody really pays any attention to it (as was the case with girl bros) it's got to be pretty demoralising.

I know Trevor Rabin from Yes does a lot of soundtracks for movies which pays well. Mark Mothersbaugh,(if that's how you spell his name),the songwriter from Devo does plenty of T.V. and Rugrats movies.Anyway 100K for a film score, not too bad. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Wendy and Lisa's music has always had a spiritual-sexy vibe that is hard to put into words. Their work on Heroes is perfect for the show. Wishing them all the best.

He does not expect high figures that is why he gave PE away. You just have not figured it out that CD are not moving and W&L are better at scoring then making a whole CD.

Umm, that was my point. nuts

and while you are free to have your own opinion about wendy and lisa's work others have the right to disagree and love their albums...i for one would put any of wendy and lisa's albums (including the boot friendly fire) up to anything prince has done the last decade...and that's because i personally prefer their music. i am not going to force you to agree with me because i know you have your own personal taste...

but...can you do the same?

Word is Wendy and Lisa are currently working on a new album and they are making it between doing scores for both of those tv shows, Bionic Woman and Heroes.

This info was coming from someone who ordered a Girl Bros CD from their website and emailed them about the new album question.

We shall see.

I heard Matt Fink was scoring for video games and he is successful at doing it and I think I heard St. Paul also does some scoring and I heard he is worth millions a year.
Doing composing is very profitable work. I am not too familar with the music composing side but that is what I am hearing composers get paid very well with their work. Wendy and Lisa will have no problem finding work since I heard few times they was swamp with scoring work and I know one year they had to cancel a Largo appearance or two to do their scoring. I know other composers get so busy that they have to use ghostwriters. I guessed I am too much a control freak to ever use ghostwriters in my writing work. lol

. I do not really give a crap that you think W&L are the greatest things since sliced bread:-o It is your opinion you are entitled to have it. Just do not try to beat the rest of over the head with it. Which you do continuously and I am not the only person who finds it annoying.

I can tell one thing that is a fact. W&L have no chance in hell of selling more than a few copies of any CD that put out under their own name. I know you will rush to their website to scope of a few copies.

Wow- really stuck it to 'em on that one....lol.
Frankly I think their career has turned out far more interesting than Princes; It is true that he sells as a name and is great live - but it doesn't mean he is making interesting music much anymore. I personally think W&L were ahead of what pop music wanted from female performers. So they got lost in the shuffle even though their albums are very solid.
