PRINCE DEFINITELY DOING MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL 16 JUL 8PM, Plus other listed dates I checked Shelby's Myspace page she has the following dates listed, so unless she is not performing in LA there arent any new LA shows until... well Heaven Knows!

i always thought prince should play montreux... i've been going to this festival almost every year for the last ten years...
now that i'm out of the country, that's the time prince picked to come ??!!  nooooo !!!

Im still wondering why 3121 has Images of Times Square, im still guessing Prince is going to do something bigger in NYC, like a run at a venue, as opposed to playing a gig in the Hamptons. Prince reall hasnt done much here in NYC lately with the exception of the one-off show at Butter and his gig with Tamar in Feb 06. French radio this morning confirmed that Prince fans should log on to the MJF site tomorrow 10AM for the possibility to get tix for a surprise gig. 2000 tickets will be available online, 1000 should be available at the venue. Aparently Prince has refused to be at Montreux for a number of years because he wanted to do it justice when he did do the festival. The radio host mentioned that Montreux was promised a very jazzy set (those looking to hear Kiss and Purple Rain would be dissapointed) including a lot of instrumentals a la Madhouse and News.
The host also said that Planet Earth will indeed be given out on the 15th of July in the UK for those who buy the "UK Mail on Sunday" paper. Finally they played a snippet of Guitar and said that Planet Earth was more "Rock" oriented album which the guy had a chance to listen to last week.
