It was just OK

Tamar no good - looks and singing - stop with the bad goofy dance moves already!

Prince

Hair - bad

Pics - some of the worst I've ever seen

Guitar -
Fury Pt II - niiiice

Outfit - cool as hell

Performance - lacking his normal sparkle...but still better than most out there today

Song selection - at least he keeps trying new songs! smile but please play LOVE or The Word already!!!

Sheila & Maceo - LOVE
The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Remember there is only one destination and that place is U
All of it. Everything. Is U.

I don't know if its just the low quality clip i've seen but there seemed like there was an incredible amount of noise/hum coming from Prince's amps.

cool Prince did his thing as always (Luved his colors). He should have done Let's Go Crazy first(THE WHOLE SONG), then the Tamar song(GREAT GUITAR PLAYING), & ended it up with Get On The Boat. It sounded like they had a few mic. problems. Those 2 announcing him looked liked they were afraid to get too close. (They probably were told not to look, touch, or ask him anything). I think Tamar should never wear any kind of biker looking shorts as an outfit performing again. Sheila E. was & looked great too bad she was unnoticed at times. The twins dancing was ok. The crowd to me really was not that into it. Overall it was the largest turnout they said.

Solid JOB Prince... What other man could rock the pastel colors 2 so much FX & cause so much commentary... Metrosexual is in again BABY!!! Yo' guitar playin' was slammin'..., so that alone was worth the aggravation of the short GMA format... C-yin' the lovely & supremely talented Ms. Sheila E. was great... Maceo & a horn section along with other new band members will keep it locked... New girl drummer from band Azuka was a study in constant motion. Don't try 2 live up 2 John Blackwell, that young man is Off Da Meat-Rack, just Do U Baby!!!
Tamar, Tamar, Tamar, I hope your shoulders R as big as those thighs Baby Girl. The fans R gonna come 4 U cause they just don't want 2 grow with a new artist & give U time 2 find yo' own way, they want greatness right out the box... I am diggin' U Lady... My ears heard your voice, but my eyes kept C-yin' a young Tina Turner just "Shakin That Thang!!!" I LQQK FWD 2 the release of yo CD. I wanna hear what's on yo mind & what Prince (if any) has in store 4 U... Play yo position & N-joy the ride as U study in the class of a master.
The GMA format is not a concert per se, it's just a chance 2 grab a few 1,000 folks & give them a blast of music from artist 2 start their day off right. I wish he wudda X-plored a couple of other tracks from 3121 but I am thankful 4 what we got...
Let's just sit back N-joy the Ride, the Music, & wait 4 the 3121 Tour 2 hit a venue or 2 near U... Peace, Blessings, & Love Unto U 1 & All CIAO!!!

I agree with Gangstafam. To me "Redheaded Stepchild" was the strongest of the 2 1/2 songs. Made me want Tamar's cd when it's released. (So mission accomplished LOL)

Don't set urself up for dissapointment. Yes Redheaded Stepchild was arguably the best out of the 3 songs. However, as we all know most Prince songs or songs he helped with are performed better live, so don't expect too much from the album version. Do I have to bring up all the dissapointments when we first heard the album version of Fury neutral
chill..prince doesnt like men being front row, makes it hard to sing the ballads

brotha's looking nice as always, BUT...*deep breath in*

1) the color coordination of that outfit is making me hungry for a bag of easter-colored peanut m & m's, and easter's come and gone already.

2) am i the only person here who thinks that prince's new hair-do looks as if his hairstylist put the relaxer on his hair, left the room for a phone call, steady stayed on the phone for like, oh, a good half-hour or so before coming back in to wash it out? lawd help 'im if all hair relaxers still had lye in 'em, because if they did...wooooo....lol it looks over-processed as hell to me, and it ain't suiting him too terribly well.

confused Ok.. am I the only person who was NOT impressed with the
Show this morning?????
I thought the songs were BORING and Prince did NOT look good at all.
And I am SOO sick of seeing Tamar and those stupid non talent
Twins. neutral
I think Prince looked 10X better on American Idol! cool
He looked hot and funky and his suit and hair was sexy!
He looked like he just rolled out of bed and put a suit on today!
Maybe he was up to late the night before..
Plus.. on "AI" he looked FINE and much younger.. he looked
more his age today on "Good Morning America"
Sure hope he does MUCH better on the BET awards!

Just my oppinion.

i was there and i can tell you it was not what i expected it to be for the wait (9 hours).
the sound for the crowd was horrible. we couldnt hear his guitar AT ALL, and prince actually had to fiddle with the levels on his damn amp.
he was supposed to play more than the two and a half songs, but he didnt. i think he was pissed and he had every reason to be. good morning america were suckers to sleep on the sound issue.
i'm sure tonight at butter (going on right now) is tremendous, but i did not have the 130 dollars or what have you to get in.
in all it was VERY disappointing. :\

Maybe I was in a bad mood or sumpthin, but I was VERY unimpressed by that performance.

His guitar on Red Headed Stepchild was ROCKIN. Sheila was HAWT as always. But those are about the only good things I can say.

While I really enjoyed Red Headed Stepchild when I saw the Tamar show in MPLS, I just didn't think it translated well on TV. Get On The Boat was just lifeless and WTF was the 90 second Let's Go Crazy for?

My favorite thing of the whole broadcast was seeing Clubkid's happy face all over the tv throughout the show nod

I wasn't too impressed either. I for one would have been p'd if I stood outside, was clear in the back for 3 hours or however long they were out there for 2 and a half songs, and one that wasn't even P's. Sorry, Red headed stepchild didn't impress me, guitar was cool, but not digging Tamar's vocals. The crowd really didn't seem to be into it either, kinda just standing there looking like we came for Prince not this chick..

The free mini-concert was advertised as Prince featuring Tamar. If anyone was upset about Tamar performing one of her songs, then their anger is obviously misplaced.

And I like how people like to bring up the "lukewarm" reception that she received. I guess people forgot that Prince was booed off the stage when he was a newbie. confused

I'm actually amazed by some of the negative reactions to this performance. That was damn good, especially "Get on the Boat." I still don't feel much star quality coming off of Tamar, but at least it's fun to watch him so excited about it. If that's the touring band, I'm sold. They have a totally different sound than the last tour, a bit looser, which I like.

The camera man was horrible. I guess what more can we ask for when it was free.

I love "Get on the Boat" so I was glad that he chose to sing it. He was looking good with the Pink & Blue. Nice vivrant colors. I wonder what he smelled like. lol

As for Tamar, I wasn't impressed by this performance except for Prince's guitar solo. Don't start attacking me because the girl can blow and she was shaking her junk like she was calling out Beyonce, but I wasn't feeling it. Maybe it was because the mic levels were off or because the Twinz suck big time. I am surprised Prince has them singing at all. He usually has the ladies there for eye candy, I guess they needed to budget and went for the 2 for 1 special.

As for the outfit I have mixed feelings. Being a sister that has been blessed with a kadonka donk donk myself, I was happy to see her flaunting her stuff. I think she was too big up top for that shirt. I thought one of her breast were going to pop out any moment. Lawd knows we don't want her career to end before her album comes out. I won't even comment on the balloon dress. She does need a new stylist.

Has anyone heard any other songs by her? If anyone saw her sing at the NAACP image awards with Prince a few years back then you know why she is Prince's protege. She is good.
