Prince and the NPG performing at Butter in NYC 6/16

Posted by PP8:

High NPGMC New York,

Late Friday night, June 16, catch Prince & The NPG per4m in a
very intimate little spot called Butter in NYC. Space is VERY limited in
this joint so there will only be a small amount of tickets made
available. And we are making these tickets available 2 the NPGMC so we
can be sure members are there 2 keep the vibe tight.

We know NPGMC members understand that there are costs involved in
renting this space out, renting equipment and paying the players we
need so we can all have a good time. So when we charge $121.03 each 2
get in, the members know it's because we're making sure that they will
xperience an amazing show well worth the xpense.

We will be selling the tickets online in the BACKSTAGE PASS room at 12
noon ET, June 16th 4 $121.03 each. There will be a ONE TICKET LIMIT.
Space is very limited so no guest tickets this time. U have 2 b a member
if u want 2 have this much fun.

Get ur ticket and join us at Butter - 415 Lafayette St, NYC , Friday,
June 16th. Doors open at 11:30pm. 21 & Over.

Love4oneanother,

NPG Music Club

hmmm

Sometimes I do think the NPGMC actually listens. Their whole explanation about ticket price seems a response to all the complaints about the Vegas co$ts.

Anyways...to anyone who can go, HAVE FUN!

I didn't get one. Which is kind of a relief actually because there was so much I have to do at home before my Jones Beach show tomorrow night. Going to a Prince show tonight would have totally screwed my plans. I suppose if I really wanted to go to the show tonight, I would have typed in all my info a little faster.

Have fun you lucky ticket holders--it will probably be better than the purple ticket party.

The PPs posted that information of that nature is not made public, but my sources told me around 300. shrug

I didn't realize I'd be competing with that many New York City NPGMC members.

I thought with 300 spaces, the price, and it being 21 & older, I'd have a better shot, but I think part of the problem was that well even though the PPs posted that the email was only sent to New Yorkers, the message/ticket sale announcement was also posted around on all 3 websites and therefore some of the people who got tickets are not even from New York. I don't know if the show was intended to be for NY NPGMC members only or not, but they didn't restrict who could buy tickets to only NYC zip codes.

There are also at least two people who were lucky enough to get tickets but probably aren't going to use them b/c their friends didn't get tix. One of those coulda gone to me dammit!! mad

still depressed i'm not going edit

I didn't think there would be a problem with people outside the tri-state area getting the announcement. I still think I would have had a better shot getting a ticket because--sure anyone from anywhere can plan to come to NYC for a Prince show if they have enough time to prepare for it, but this thing is going down tonight! How many people from the midwest or Florida or wherever can drop their plans for this weekend and jump on a plane for NYC just like that? I live in Queens and it would have been difficult for to me to make this show. So I think everyone that got a ticket must be within driving distance at least, and that's more people than I accounted for. I should have typed a little faster. neutral

I just walked into the space. Live right around the corner. It's not even a club. It's the upstairs part of the restaurant... very, very tiny. No stage.

They've cleared out the tables at one end and are setting up.

But don't even think of trying to get in. They aren't even letting employees see the show.

Well, if anyone happens to have an extra ticket or a way to get in, click on my username and send me a message. I live right around the corner, grew up in Mpls., and can be at the venue in about 2 minutes.

hmm Does that mean you didn't have to type in ccard info? How'd you get a ticket then?

I'd like to see a set list at least. The NPGMC email just dropped names of "famous" douche-bags. Ya gotta know Diddy aint no NPGMC member.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Someone on the street told me people were being let in without tickets for an admission charge of $312. I don't know how true that is.
