I have NEVER seen the video for Screams Of Passion (looks like the same set-up as Mountains). I feel musically blessed to see the video of the song that I have been ravin about since I first heard it on Girl6. The veideo too, was good yes. I wouldve never seen it if it wasnt 4 npgmc.

Then Mia Bocca, very classy, and up-to-date especially for 1987. Never seen this video either and it was very good.

they would have to be un edited of course, cos most of us prefer the classic rude boy to the slow moving jw that he's turned into.

This is a good round of clips. That Family video is a rare one. THe Holy River is as well. Reminds us of how great that Emancipation era was. There were alot of videos and TV exposure from Prince on this project. Videos I can think of included: Betcha By Golly Wow, Somebody's Somebody, The Holy River, Face Down - are there any othe official promotional videos? I dont think so

Theres a documentary called something like "The Prince Of Paisley Park" and it had a short clip of The Family's "Screams Of Passion". I remember it as the band playing against a blue-screen that had an ocean crashing behind them.

Haven't seen it yet.

The Holy river s video is quite bad, especially the FX BUT:
-the eye in the back reminds me of the purple rain drawing
-Mayte is wonderfull
-P acting as if he was drunk but still turning around like none of us could do is funny

I think the lyrics "the picture upon the wall..one eye staring at nothing at all"from the Holy River are a reference to Prince's Purple Rain era, and his life in general before he changed his name. I think the eyes in the song are the eyes that appear in Purple Rain and the eyes that repeatedly have appeared on different albums throughout his career.
I really like this song because there is a moment, when he says "I asked my girl to marry me, and she said yes and cried", that sounds so genuine his voice even sounds like it cracks a little like he has got a lump in his throat. I love that!

I saw the Screams of Passion video when it came out. It was playing on the video screens of this gay bar in Minneapolis called Cloud 9 that I snuck into with friends when I was 15. HAHA!

I just watched that K-OS video and it made me CRY?!! That segment where the homeles guy on the street and a guy walking by get into this dance/fight is TRUE ART! It really struck a nerve in me, I think. I live in Oakland/San Francisco, CA, and there are homeless people everywhere. The dance really speaks to the kind of tension that exists in that unfortunate social situation. Really amazing.

And I got to see the LoveSign vid again. I loved it when it came out, cause it was the something new again after a long time and it was pretty good imo. Not Princely extreme good High Quality. But an average nice pop song.

The vid is I think one of the few good vids he did. Nothing artsy, not P and his band from 70 angles. Just a nice sunny vid with a simple story line.

The beginning shows Susannah reading the Life Magazine in the bed just like on the album spread with the extended version's orchestra in the background. Then has them dancin in the front of a ocean background very very much like Mountains.
